Help broken usb/charger port ZTE WARP

I'm sure it's probably possible but you will need to be able to take the warp apart, desolder the old port and solder in a new one. I would think you would need moderate soldering skills. As for sourcing a port... you should be able to scavenge one from a dead phone? IDK if you can buy them.

Mine does the same thing. I had the marquee that also did it especially when the signal was bad and you are trying to access data it will get really hot and the battery will drain instantly. The thing is the warp and the marquee have different basebands and modems I think the warp has the msm8655 QUALCOMM I know and the marquee has the ti omap. Its probably also due to sprints bad network too. I had an s2 but the power button broke so now im back to my warp and it did not get hot at all while trying to access data but it also wouldn't do it with a bad signal like the warp.

I just replaced mine min USB from another phone do advise making ur solder tip small as u can and learn how to use ur solder flux to ur advantage n don't use to much solder before I solder any of them leads I tap the tip on the side of the flux can to knock off the extra use a nice bright led light n a magnifying glass cause u will need it and a bottle of rubbing alcohol n a tooth brush to wipe the board when ur done hope that helps out. It's really not that hard to do just pay attention to what your doing if your not confident then try it out on a scrap piece pc board first so you can get the hang of it first I will inform you, you will have to be careful as for them leads are near the diameter of a human hair 1 false move and you mine as well toss it out..
heres what they look like

You can find them on the net..I used a hot air de-soldering machine I have to heat mine and remove and replace.
There are some video's on YouTube showing how to do it. Took me all of 5 minutes to do replace mine..make sure and take a piece of sheet metal big enough to cover the whole board and cut out area big enough to expose the USB port you want to replace..this guards against heating other solder joints near the defective port and having more work put on you.
I don't think I'm allowed to post links so just search YouTube for the video..hope this helps you.
