could you run through the process

i have already rooted using the official htc method to unlock the bootloader and flashed Clockwork recovery.

i have read somewhere about cid and boot.img now slightly confused

i have a htc one x international (tegra 3)

Hboot 1.39

Cid H3G_001

and help would be greatfull

Re. CID/hboot, that was only really an issue when JB first rolled out. From the hboot info you've given, you're good to go.

Because of the bootloader unlock solution HTC use, you can't flash to the boot partition in recovery, that has to be done manually in fastboot.

Download the ROM, copy it to the SD Card on your phone, then open it and look for a file called boot.img. Copy that to the fastboot folder on your PC, boot your phone into fastboot, then flash using the command:

Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Press enter

Code:
fastboot erase cache
.

Reboot to recovery, then flash your ROM. Are you ok with the ROM flash (instructions should be in the Viper thread) or do you want me to run through that too?

Shame about Venom, I had no idea it was being discontinued, it's a really, really great ROM :(

Its a great ROM and you will be installing it with most if not all of the bugs resolved and the improvements built in. It has swipe to wake included (not unique to Viper X) which resolves my biggest issue with the One X IE having to use the power button to wake the phone.

I dont think you will regret it.
