Root [ROM][BETA 3.1]Warped Kitty[AROMA][EXT4 Tweaks][UNISEX] Updated 08/05/13

@ bcrichster just wrote a little linux script/gui for you that should get the find/replace text within files accomplished.

Features:
Code:
Graphical interface
Choose directory to search in
Type file type to search (ex. xml or smali)
Type text to search within files
Type text to replace it with

find_replace-installer.zip

Once you have run the installer, you will find the app in your dash by typing find. Enjoy!

Thanks SuperR! You da man!

No problem ;) Btw, there is an update available for find_replace as soon as my server comes back online. Navigate to /home/youruser/.myapps/find_replace. Double-click update and choose run.

I realized that it did not account for spaces in the file names (ex. "this is a test.txt"). This will probably not be an issue for you when using it to edit your theme because the file names don't contain spaces. For other uses however it could cause issues. Anyway it's fixed now so no worries.

If you don't feel like waiting for my server, you can navigate to the same directory and click uninstall instead. The link above has been updated with the newer version so just download again and reinstall.

edit: if you try the update method and it hangs at grabbing new version, that means the server is still down or you are not online.

If you install the nandroid manager app You can easily restore your cwm backed up files . As far as arranging your homescreen i dont think there would be an easy solution to it.

*Edit i forgot that i havent included nandroid manager yet , its in the soon to be released 3.2 beta but not in the currently available one

nandroid manager has a beta feature that restores home screen. I have not tried it.

if you use a 3rd party launcher nandroid manager will restore the data thus restoring your home screen.

edit: it might even restore the data for the stock launcher...not sure

edit2: most 3rd party launchers have their own backup/restore to make that process easy.
