Droid 4 on MetroPCS? Possible? Worth it?

I'm a QWERTY keyboard lover and proudly admit it. I've been looking at the Droid 4 as a potential upgrade to my super-shitty Samsung Freeform, since as far as I know, Droid 4 has the best combo of QWERTY keyboard and app support out there. (Blackberry keyboards might be better, but their app support leaves a lot to be desired, from what I hear.) After talking to Verizon, I found out that 4G isn't supported on their prepay plan ($70 a month for unlimited talk/text and 4 gigs of data) and they don't yet have a date for when it will be supported, so since I don't want to pay $100 a month for a contract plan especially if I can buy a Droid 4 off of Amazon or eBay...is flashing a Droid 4 to use MetroPCS possible? Is it worth it, or will I lose significant features in the process? If Verizon gets their act together at some point, would it be possible to flash back, or am I stuck with what I get, once I flash the phone?

it's not compatible,it's a CDMA device, you would need a GSM device in order to get it to work on metro, check out some other GSM phones like the samsung glide, or things like that and go from there

Err...if it's not possible, then why is this possible?

MOTOROLA DROID RAZR FULLY FLASHED TO METROPCS!! - YouTube

Droid Razr has basically the same feature set, except no physical keyboard.

because at one point, it was legal to bring CDMA phones from other carriers to metro pcs, now since the houdini program has been discontinued, it is no longer legal, so if you're going to do it, it's not legal, and no one on this forum will assist, because the process itself is illegal.

Oh. I didn't realize that the program had been discontinued. I'd read a couple of things about it through google but didn't see any information on it on Metro PCS' website, so I was confused.

That really sucks. I'll look into the Samsung Glide, but maybe my best option is to just get a Droid 4 and pay $100 a month to Verizon for a few months until they get 4G support for their prepaid program, so I can have the phone I really want. :-/

I really feel like I'm bursting your bubble lol, and for that I apologize, I been waiting for there prepaid side(Verizons) to accept 4G devices legally since about last year, and I'm still waiting, best bet, for being cost effective, would be to check out what your options are on the CDMA side. if they did offer prepaid for the LTE ready devices, I would have already bought the new G'zone Commando LTE

If you really wanted to use that droid 4 and were ok not having 4g speeds, you should be able to flash the phone for use on page plus. It will not offer the same rates as metro but for $55/month, you would receive talk text unlimited with 2 gb of web. In case you were wondering why flashing to metropcs was illegal, its because you would have to change the serial number of the phone. You do not have to change the serial number of the phone to run on Page Plus. The flasbing allows your phone to skip the lte network and rely exclusively on cdma. There are lengthy discussions on this in other forums. I won't go into details but if you want to know more pm me

not to doubt what you're saying, would the user have any problems activating the device via PP if they have a phone with an LTE sim?
