yea he acted surprised that someone could actually not like the droid. and its not that i don't like the droid its just that i like the incredible 10 times better. i wonder if they are getting more incentive to clear out some of the overstocked droids and eris' possibly.
Sure, because once this thing is in their stores, there will be waayyyyy less people that will want an Eris or Droid, compared to this. Maybe people on a tight budget will pick the Eris, and maybe someone who feels that they need a physical KB will pick the Droid, but otherwise....

"I'll take Incredible for the win, Alex"

I didn't understand your post from yesterday... you reference a 2nd micro-usb port???

The image that references the second micro USB port is a screen cap from the Wirefly video. (Note that the presenter in that video is an HTC PR/marketing representative.) The second micro USB is actually on the connector which is attached to the phone -- kind of like a power pass-through, I imagine.

If anyone (like me) is looking for a very thin slip case to provide scratch protection for the phone while it's in your pocket but not interfere with its actual operation, this is the nicest looking one I have found - positive reviews, and it's cheap as heck too. Made in the USA!

Nexus One Suede Jacket - Nexus One Sleeve - Nexus One Case - Slim Nexus One Case - Nexus One Pouch - Nexus One Soft Case - Ultrasuede - WaterField Designs Nexus One Suede Jacket

To get an Incredible-sized sleeve this is the reply they emailed to me today:

"You can order a case for your HTC Droid by ordering the Nexus One Suede Jacket and then when you get to the special instructions at check out write: "I really want a Suede Jacket for my HTC Droid. The official dimensions are: ___- x _____ x ____. I understand that it will take about a week to make up special for me."

If in the meantime, you get your Droid and you have access to a soft measuring tape, it would be great if you could email us with your order number and the horizontal and vertical circumference (wrap the tape measure around at the bulkiest points). These measurements help us make sure your Suede Jacket size comes out perfect.

Thanks. If there's anything else we can do, just let me know."

Just got back from the mall and my first hands on experience with the INC...

It was AWESOME! I couldn't put it down for 35 mins.

Does not feel "cheap" or "plasticky" as some people have mentioned - very light and sturdy.

The VZW rep even said that one person complained that the phone was "too light".

Anyway - I could not have been more impressed, and my wait until the 29th just got THAT MUCH LONGER!

Could anyone who has the phone already measure the horizontal and vertical circumference for me? Apparently it's really necessary for a correct fit.

Much appreciated!

we all know the phone is fast and awesome but some people keep talking about the exterior and back of the phone being cheap as you said so i love positive reviews on this aspect of the phone. :)

Pre ordered my new DI on Monday like most folks here. Sold my Moto Droid on craigslist a couple of days ago to offset the purchase of my new DI. In the interim I've been using my wife"s old ""Pinkberry" curve. (bought her a moto droid for Christmas) Man! Talk about misery! This Curve is crap. Painfully slow. Not to mention the abuse I've been catching from my buddies at work. I'm dying here. The 29th can't come soon enough.:(

I'm getting that feeling too. Seems like the Verizon reps don't like the Incredible. Although I think the one I talked to just wanted to sell the Droid but the other said straight up that he hates the Incredible. I asked why and he said something about HTC came from this other company, don't remember the name, and he didn't like them. Sure must have a big grudge to hate the Incredible just because of HTC's way past..

Interesting.. I guess everyone is different. I just stopped on the way home from work at my local store where I was in this past Monday where the saleswoman said to call/stop by today to check their inventory.
No way I was calling, I wanted to stop in! haha... They didn't have a demo, but all 3 reps there said the phone is AWESOME. They only got 15 phones in to be sold next Thursday, so she said to come early. I told her don't worry, I be there at 8:59am knocking on the window :D

They seemed to love the phone and kept talking about it. I wish they had a demo to play with. Funny is I should've asked that if they already had the 15 in the back room, why not let me buy one now.. LOL... oh wells.. didn't want to wear out my welcome

VZW's web site is slow but functional to enter the update [to the Inc, of course] but The checkout phase fails repeatedly.
I ordered online earlier today (about 2:30pm Eastern). It was slow, took me about 20 minutes, but no real problems.

Oh, and despite what has been reported on this thread, you can cancel a pre-order. I had a reason to cancel my order and reorder for a different line on my family plan. Called the 800 number for Internet sales and the gentleman I spoke with was happy to process the cancellation. Then I reordered, as noted above. The order status on the old order shows "Your order has been cancelled" and the new order shows exactly what everyone else's does.

Hi all,

This forum has certainly been quite entertaining, and every so often somewhat informative. Much like everybody else, I have been anxiously waiting for the release of the HTC Inc. Much of what I know has been from 1) filtering out useable information from this forum, 2) online searches, and 3) Verizon (online and personal contacts). However, I am still unsure of many facts, and hopefully there are the knowledgeable few who can provide some enlightenment.

I've tried to search for these features in earlier portions of this thread, but by the time I read one post, there are at least 5 or more new posts, and I cannot spend all of my free time trying to catch up on the 44,000+ posts.

Directly from VZW.com:

Specifications
  • Dual Band CDMA2000 1xRTT/1xEVDO/1xEVDO Rev A (800/1900 MHz)
  • Memory: ROM: 512MB, RAM: 512MB DDR
  • Qualcomm
