Anyone know why this isn't working for me? Moved from HTC EVO (loved it!) to HTC One. EVO had phone favorites desktop widget that would dial the favorite contact with one touch. HTC One has a phone favorites and also has option named DEFAULT ACTION=Call yet the thing won't one touch direct call the favorite contact. When the favorite contact is pressed it opens the contact info page. I know I can create a desktop shortcut to the particular contact and achieve the one touch direct call but I want to be able to perform the one touch calling from the favorite contact listed in the phonebook favorites window. any help or info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I did find that pinching the empty area of the desktop then selecting the people widget then selecting favorites then going to the widget on the desktop and pressing and holding as if to move or delete the widget then let go of the widget puts a blue square around the widget which can then be resized but only resized from top to bottom not also side to side. This is much better and almost exactly what I was looking to do. It would be nice if the favorites that are accessed through the phone app worked like the people widget does and also would be nice if the people widget would resize from side to side.

I have been using the people favorites widget I placed on the desktop for several weeks. I have it shrunk from top to bottom so one and a half rows show (unable to shrink to one row). I am able to scroll up or down within the people widget to locate the favorite contact I want to one touch dial. this is working great and I don't have to open a folder then touch the contact, I only need to swipe to the contact and touch in order to dial. Still HTC has not addressed the Default Action located within the contact. Hope this helps someone!

Thanks godzilla932, not clear though. How are you accomplishing your direct dial? when I go from my HTC One desktop and click the phone icon which opens the phonebook then swipe to the favorites screen then either touch the picture or the name (doesn't seem to matter which) it brings up that particular contacts information even though the setdefaultaction=call option is set. can you let us know if you are using the HTC One and if so what version are you at? I'm at HV 0004, SV 1.31.651.2, AV 4.1.2, HTC SV 5.0, PRI V 3.17_003. As mentioned earlier, I did find that pinching the empty area of the desktop then selecting the people widget then selecting favorites then going to the widget on the desktop and pressing and holding as if to move or delete the widget then let go of the widget puts a blue square around the widget which can then be resized but only resized from top to bottom not also side to side. This puts all the favorite contacts (assuming you have already added favorite contacts) in one scrollable widget on the desktop that allows each contact to do a direct call when the selected contact is pressed once.

Yes I'm using the HTC one.I have to check the version number.I just got the phone a couple of days ago.I have the favorites thing on one of my pages and I just touch the picture and it makes the call, same as muy last phone.I did set the options thing and it seems to stay set.If you really need the version number let me know and I'll copy it and place here.

Ok wait I think I see what you are doing, it's not the same as what I do. Just put the favorite wiget on one of your pages and do it from there
