I just want to point out that this is the $40 plan so the data is limited to 500MB of 4G data each month and it then drops down to 2G speeds which are about 100 Kbps. Just thought I would let everyone know.

OH Really! but it says....

[QUOTE 4 Lines of service for $100/month! unlimited talk text web! omg![/QUOTE] in the Ad. It does Not say Unlimited talk, text, 500MB 4G(4G LTE where available ) pushed down to 2G speeds.

This is false advertising!!! I am VERY Surprise no one as filed a complaint.

Not false advertising at all. Subscribers will receive unlimited talk text and data. For the first 500 mb the speeds will be 4G. After that, the speeds will be throttled. Nowhere do they say they will cut off your internet.

In the terms and conditions in which you have to agree to to get on the plan in says it has all the features of the $40 plan

I see. Well this seems like a good deal for some people, but for others it might not cut. I did a measurement of how much data I used in a month which was 357Mb(checking mobile email, mobile web, no streaming) but i have 3G plan so it could be very different, if I can switch to this or newer plans.

Bumper This offer only for new customers...

What if this idea works. I currently have 5 lines paying $195 dollars, so lets say I port out to another carrier that is not Tmobile or MVNO of tmobile; for like a month or two. Then I come back, buy new phones or byod. I only have 1 4GLTE phone on the account now.
Can I bring that GS3 phone that I had with metro 2 months ago (Possible a byod) is it useless, or I need all need new phones?
Is it possible to lose phone numbers in this process?
Will I qualify for 4 for $100 line offer?
2 LG F3, 1 GS3 or GS4, 1 Nexus4
I am just trying to get some insight.

It will work, and you don't even have to wait 1-2 months. I bought a $20 card for an old Virgin Mobile phone to port-out, then ported-in a few days later with another old phone we had laying around.

Is your GS3 the GSM (blue) version? The promo is good for Metro-branded GSM phones and BYOD, so if it's the CDMA (white) version, you could port-out all 5 lines but you'll need to get a GSM phone to replace the GS3. Then you could port-in all 5 lines for $125.

Just remember that each line will only get its first 500MB of data at up to 4G speed.

Thanks for the information. That fifth line is temporary, Yea its the white version of the GS3, but he wants the GS4, but if he changes his mind I will just kick him off the family plan and he pays on his own line. Then I do the port over to Virgin and in few days the rest of the 3 lines port back to metro to pay $90 per month.

You can still have the GS3 on the family plan, it just wouldn't get the promo rate; the GS3 would get the regular $5 discount, while the other 3 lines would be $25 each.
