What did you move on to?

I see this forum winding down as there are less and less posts. I was wondering what phone everyone moved on to? Are you still rocking the Rezound like me and plan to for awhile? Are you still going with HTC or switching to something else?

For me I will have the Rezound till October of this year as my upgrade date is then. I'll see whats available and make the move then I guess, but my Rezound is plenty fine for now.

My wife's Incredible is due now for upgrade and she wants the S4, I am thnking of doing the same when I can as so far I don't like the newer HTC phones, maybe by October they will have something more that I like.

So what did or will you move on to?

I regretted getting the Rezound and not waiting a few months for other phones. Nothing wrong with it per se, it just wasn't much of an upgrade from my DInc. I recently got the Rez wet and had to rush out to get a new phone before some business travel, where I use my phone the most.

I went with the S4.

As much as I hate how Samsung is becoming the Apple of the Android devices, for just one phone I wanted the benefit of readily available accessories and have the best developer support (although I don't have plans to root/ROM it at this time). Also, I hate that HTC and Moto are only making phones that don't have removable batteries. The Rezound was just left behind so quickly that it got dropped from so many's consideration.

So far, I LOVE the S4. Quite a few things irk me, but I def wouldn't give it up.

After the last update on my Rez, which did a lot of damage, including wiping my sd card, as I wrote on here before, I went with the Nokia 928. So far I have way better battery life, it's fast, has plenty of apps regardless of what everyone wines about. Best part is that most of what isn't out yet, I couldn't care less about. Istagram my ass! I have no regrets getting this phone. There will be updates that will take care of a few things we need like a notifcation bar, and I'm willing to wait.
Honestly after 3 Tbolts and 3 Rezzy's I just wanted out of android. No matter what you get, in 3 months there will always be something way better coming out. I'm so pissed off that Verizon is loosing the race to ATT. I hate Att like I hate the crapple. They had the L920 6 months before V released the 928, very similar phones. That seems to be what they do now, wait 6 months after everyone else releases the newest and greatest. I may have gone with the HTC one, but I couldn't wait that long ot get a new phone. I preserved my grandfathered Data as I bought my phone outright. I now have no contract and can switch phones anytime I want to buy a new one. I'd rather sell my always mint phone in a year or less for whatever I can get than to wait 2 years stuck in a contract.

Well I just have to admit to being completely out of step but I still love my rezound. I have had no problems other than having to correct the update crap.

I just got a notice from Best Buy telling me that I can now upgrade according to my contract and they suggested a GS4, but why should I?

I agree with the comments about HTC going to an integrated battery so my next phone will not be an HTC, but for the foreseeable future I will stick with the best phone I have ever had. I also agree that it is better to do the European approach, own the phone with no contract.

This forum is far from dead, there are 3-4 new posts (including the root section) every day. The Rezound is also far from dead, since it currently has several rock solid CM 10.1 based Jelly Bean ROMs available. I thought my phone was on it's last legs, then I flashed in Infected Rezound, watched my battery life increase 30%, on Jelly Bean with all the newest features and better performance. Also, XDA has about 50-70 new messages everyday between it's 6 Rezound forum areas!

I wouldnt write off HTC cause of a integrated battery. My DNA is hands down a better phone that the Rezound is when it comes to specs, and after all that, it has a battery that most considered small, but it was like night and day when it came to battery life compared to my Rezound. And the Rezound was running extended battery. The ability of such a small battery size to perform like it does, shows that HTC did some homework to make some great battery life from it.

I do realize flashing a new less battery draining rom would change alot, but Im going off the 2 stock roms side by side.

Hey stkorn97 thanks for your insight.

I can see your point but I am a diehard replaceable battery type. I always look to buy the best technology I can find and then keep it as long as it is "practically" useful to me. So, I have the tendency to keep things longer than the marketing guys want me to. This usually results in going past the battery life cycle so I need new batteries. I usually carry an extra couple to get me through the day or on a trip. Also, I like having the ability to kill the phone to do a reset which is more effective if the battery is out.

However I do admit that I am not with it. I actually prefer the old mechanical stuff that never broke and was fixable, as opposed to the expensive but disposable world we live in now. All I need is a battery that can last a month, never loses its recharge ability, is a cm square and weightless, is removable, and makes gourmet dinners.

Have a great week, bro.

I moved from the rezound to the dna then to the note 2 because the dna has sim card issues. I don't really care for Samsung but HTC isn't offering anything that excites me. I love my dna but because I use my phone for business the sim card issue is a problem I can't have. I would drop this Samsung in a heartbeat if HTC wowed me with something spectacular.

I'm still running my stock rezound. I had a proximity sensor go out, got a replacement. I never had any problems with the ota updates. It still takes really great photos. My only complaint is I'm bored with it and want something new. The HTC one is what I'm waiting on. My contract is over and I plan to pay retail, so I don't want to settle for a ho-hum phone.

I'm using a stock Rezound too and it still works well except battery life is getting shorter and shorter each day.

Since I'm also on a grandfathered unlimited data plan, I'm planning to buy my next phone full price so I can keep the plan. There's nothing out there that tempts me so I'm going to use this phone as long as I can or until something sexy shows up.

Batteries are cheap, you can get 2 standard batteries, a stand-alone charger, and a case for about $20 from Amazon: Amazon.com: Laza Zcell 1750mah HTC Rezound 2x Battery + Charger + Travel Case Combo: Cell Phones & Accessories or an extended battery and cover for about the same price.

I moved to a Note 2. Primarily for the screen size. I'm still on the grandfathered unlimited boat and this is really a small tablet for me. (I've never made a call on my Note and only a couple on the Rez.)

I really liked the Rez but got tempted away by the larger screen. Samsung v HTC? Doesn't really matter to me. There is a decent one-button root for the Note 2 and I'm ok with whatever is layered on top.

Ive still never seen this sim card issue and ive had it since day 1. My buddy has one and he sees it once every few days usually. I apparently lucked out with mine, cause its been by far the best android phone Ive used.

I'm on the stock rezound and still love this phone. Haven't had any noticeable issues other than the browser closes once in a while but thats no big deal. I'm using the factory extended battery and its over a year old, i've noticed it doesn't hold as much charge as when new. Maybe one of these days i'll get a new one on amazon but its not pressing. I still get decent battery life. I don't really have a reason to get rid of this phone but if i had to, i'd probably go with the S4, strictly due to the HTC One not having a removable battery

I'm still on my Rezound and I'm still in love with it, despite a few minor gripes. Most of those gripes could probably be resolved with a fresh ROM but I just have not had the time. If and when I upgrade it will depend on what's offered at the time. I know dev support will definitely play a factor so unfortunately it will probably not be another HTC.

I finally got the Laza Zcell batteries you recommended. It's my first full day using them. I charged them up last night then half way through my day today swapped out one of them. I know, battery life wasn't great but the instructions say it takes about 5 charge cycles to get them to their max.

Thanks for the tip!

I just upgraded last week to an S4. I like having SD cards and removable batteries. HTC phones in Asia have SD slots but remove them in the States. Personally I am done with HTC and their poor support for their phones.

I really like the S4 used my wife's Rezound tonight an I already wished I had made the change quicker. The S4 is really the only current phone that I felt met my needs.

I too went with the S4, removable battery and sd card being my deciding factors. If those factors were removed I would have gone with the HTC one. I figured I'll give it another two year cycle and see how they're doing with battery life then. For now I'll happily tote an extra battery when I'm in those situations where I have long stints between charge opportunities.

That said, I rooted the S4 and froze all of the bloatware and am happily sailing along on 16+ hours on a single charge!

for you guys that went with the S4, how is the call and data reception compared to the Rezound? In low reception areas, does the S4 compare well or exceed the Rezound? I've heard some people say the S4 has had some issues with reception
