Hi, everyone. This is my first post. I bought a used HTC Wildfire from a second hand shop. When I turned it on I saw a weird purple circle logo. Then a Cyangenmod 7 logo appeared. I tried this phone and it was alright but it's really slow compared to my new HTC Wildfire. I want to remove this Cyangenmod and reboot it back to stock. But how? I'm afraid if i just format from the settings app. It would mess the phone up. So is it safe to. I want the old Android version which is the REAL version that HTC Wildfire can handle. Not a higher one. By the way, I am a nooooob at all this rooting thing. So less on the crazy talk. Thanks.

-------------WARNING------------
The following steps are to be followed with great caution, they are from my experience with Wildfires which have flawlessly worked for me. It is your decision to follow them, I am not liable for any damage cased to your device. You have been warned :)
-----------------------------------
This method keeps your device rooted, which I great as you can increase the speed of your device

1) Download a stock android 2.2 ROM from XDA developers, Google it
2) Put the ROM in your sd card (but not in any folders)
3) Flash the ROM using Clockwork Recovery
To open Clockwork Recovery, either
3i) (Whilst the device is off) Hold the power and volume button simultaneously, use the volume button to move the blue box to 'recovery' and press the power button to select it.
3ii) (Whilst the device is on) Hold the power button and select 'reboot', then select 'recovery'
4) When you're in recovery select 'install from zip', then 'choose zip from sd card', find and select the ROM you put in your sd card
5) Wait for the ROM to flash, the reboot the device. You should see the usual Sense UI

[ROM][25/10] OLDWildPuzzleROM_2.2 Froyo v8.0.11 - xda-developers
Use the above link and download the 'Wildpuzzle' ROM

Download '0001_WildPuzzleROM_v8.0.11.zip' (The actual Sense-based ROM) & '0055_oc_kernel_2.6.32_v8.zip' (A kernel which supports speeds of up to 768MHz - from my experience speeds of 710-729MHz allows the Wildfire to run with stability)

When you flash the ROM, repeat stages 1-3 but flash the kernel instead. Once your device has rebooted please allow 5-10mins for your device to actually boot up, if it hasnt just pull out the battery and turn it on.
