Droid Maxx Reviews

Also, the imbeciles that biotch about the $100 difference between the Maxx and the Moto-X don't stop to consider that the difference is only $50 when comparing the 32 GB Moto-X. Accuracy in tech reviewing FTW.

And for $50 you get . . . wireless charging and 3500 mAh battery. Worth every penny if you ask me. Especially when you include the build quality of a solid back vs a colorful plastic one. Oh and a 5" screen vs. well you get the point.

Here's a great review...

http://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/smartphones/motorola-droid-maxx.aspx

...from the standpoint that it references the Ultra, whose review appeared first, yet it still reads as a complete review and fairly treats the Maxx as a stand-alone device.

If I read this review before checking out the Maxx in person, I'd think Verizon was showing me the wrong phone, expecting a brick (and not a device a scant 0.04" thicker that an iPhone 5S on this holiest of holy days).

They rave about the gorgeous screen, but slap it down only on its 720p spec. Tsk tsk. At least they give mention to the RGB subpixel arrangement.

Thankfully they -don't- pull this treatment with the CPU, and instead point out that the Maxx downsampled a test video faster than the blazing fast LG G2.

Interesting battery test, too.

It's hard to understand how they can say that the Maxx should have a 1080p display, because competitors do, and then rave about the RGB technology that makes an outstanding looking display, without coming to the conclusion that perhaps the latter is not possible if you try to do the former.

That's my only quibble with that review.
