Hi shaikrafi, I understand from your Post that you Downloaded and installed the wrong Firmware for your Huawei U8800 X5 ?

You obviously did not read the warning about identifying your phone model and the Firmware version.

Try this procedure which I found on the web:

Huawei U8800 boot menu
To get the boot menu where you can among other things factory reset the Huawei U8800, do the following. If your phone still has the “old” 2.1 or 2.2 versions of Android, just power off and then restart.

If, on the other hand, you have 2.3 (Gingerbread), you may have to power off the phone, slide off the back cover, take out the battery, wait a few seconds, reassemble and then do the following:
Press and hold the Volume up+Power keys and keep holding them until your phone vibrates.

After a few seconds, you should get an exclamation point inside a triangle and a 3D android, followed by the boot menu.

Now you can reset to factory default.

You do this with the menu item wipe data/factory reset.
Do not under any circumstances select wipe cache partition, as this will brick your phone unless you know exactly what you are doing!
Interestingly, all menu items are all lower case, for some reason, with no initial capital letters.

To select an option, arrow down with the volume buttons, and select using the power button.
Do check you have the correct option before doing this!

(You must Press the buttons simultaneously and Hold until the phone vibrates - maybe at least 5 seconds.)
If it doesn't work the first time - repeat the process - Power off and remove battery - refit and try again.

Hope this helps to get you going again.
If you want Upgrade your Firmware - Don't try and use the PRO version if your phone is only the Standard U8800 X5.
I have Upgraded my phone to the Gingerbread 2.3.5 Standard version without any problems.

It's great. Fast Boot and Power Saver are a couple of the new actions in the Firmware.

Let's know how you get on. Neil.
I take no responsibilty for incorrect actions which may "Brick" your phone.

Try to switch on your phone while it's connected to your computer.
If it doesn't do anything after a few minutes, disconnect from the comp and remove the battery for a few minutes. Re-install the battery and reconnect to PC and try again.
You may have to repeat this 2 or 3 times as I found with a U8150 I was unlocking and updating. Cheers Neil.

Was your phone fully charged before you started the update????

Most bricked phones are because people start to update with the phone battery almost flat and the battery will not charge until the software installed can read the battery state.

My work mate did an update with the battery nearly flat and it killed it ....I'm not saying that it can not be salvaged but the likely hood is slim

Ps ALWAYS backup your original Os data etc

Yes. In my phone there was almost 95% of battery power left. I updated the idoes x5 pro frimware to my phone idoes x5 purposefully because i want to update to ics 4.0.3.

While updating the firmware in middle of the process it hangs, I removed battery and put back it again. that it it's not switch on. I tried each and every trick to turn on but it won't.

Please someone help me to fix this issue.

Hi shaikrafi, On Huawei web site, there is a warning that you must ONLY use the Firmware for the model of phone that you have.
This is why you are told to check your phone Version first.

If you open the Downloaded Firmware - you will see a File Folder. If you open that you will see a dload folder and software upgrade Guide (Pdf) and a Version suitability Guideline (Pdf).
You can get all the info you need if you print these off.

If your phone is U8800 Standard model - you CAN'T Upgrade the Firmware to Pro Model without "Rooting" the phone first!!!

Here are the Huawei U8800 Pro Specs:

More info for you. I Downloaded the U8800Pro Firmware Upgrade from Huawei and opened it to check content.
It has 3 dload files and a user Guideline File in Pdf.
To open this, I had to go back to the Download and Rename (shorten the file) to enable MS to open the Pdf.
This file is 9 PAGES long and I have shown the important extract from these notes:

[6 Notes
The version is android 4.0 ICS,please read the instructions to update your phone.
1. Software requirement
a) Before upgrade, please guarantee the version you use is Huawei
official version, or else it may upgrade failed or cause unknown
problem.
b) Don

I think this explains your problem. You created a flat battery state by pulling the battery out when the phone paused. The update process can take quite some time and in hindsight you should left the phone for a longer period.

I can only suggest trying all the suggested methods (as above) again.
Sorry, I don't think I can be of further help to you. Neil.

ps. One late thought - Press the Power button only and keep depressed for up to 30 seconds or more until phone vibrates or screen lights up with Huawei logo.

Hi bdeepak92, Sorry to hear you did the same thing!
In another life - I used to be a Service Trainer. The biggest problem I had was getting Technicians to RTM. (Read the Manual).
As I stated in the earlier Posts, you must carry out thorough research BEFORE jumping in and trying something you are not familiar with.

I have been able to carry out repairs/updates on the Android phones I own, by first gathering all the info possible and PRINTING a copy to follow in exact detail.

These phones must be treated like computers - Backup and Save your Data before altering anything.:smokingsomb:

Unless someone comes up with a recovery system and Posts it, I can't be of further help. Neil.

I'm having exactly this same problem and there's no way to bring this phone back to life.

The phone is still under warranty so I'm going to take it to tech support. What should be my approach in order to get it fixed/replaced?

Should I simply say that the phone died on me and I never could get it back on again?

No, there's absolutely no reaction when it's plugged-in, not even the tiny red light.

"If your phone still has the “old” 2.1 or 2.2 versions of Android, just power off and then restart."

This obviously doesn't work. I'll tell my friend to send it to warranty, play dumb and expect them to be nice, I actually warned her I didn't take any responsibility if anything happened to her phone but even if you tell people that if something like this happens they always end up trying to blame you and charge you for it, lol.

Btw, this updating process is completely ******ed.

A decent company would have a software to handle the update procedure and wouldn't rely on the user having to copy the firmware to the sd card and update it from there.

Even if they used this method the update should compare the firmware model with the phone model -before- starting the update, not go ahead with it, fail mid process and render the phone useless.

I'm going to tell my friend to send this to warranty and if they don't replace the main board I'm going to go completely berserk on their asses.

Hi S3nd41, I sympathize with you, but each manufacturer makes his own rules. Was the phone a standard U8800, X5, Pro or -51. We're talking 4 models of phone produced for certain market areas and the need for care in carrying out any Upgrade with the right Download and procedure.
Huawei stress the need to make sure you identify the version of the phone to see if it will update.
The version is not the phone model.
To get the version > Dialer > *#*#2846579#*#* > Project Menu > Veneer information query > S/H query > Version #'s.
You then need to compare at Huawei web site where there is 2 pages of versions to check if your one is approved.
To go from Android 2.2 to 2.3.5 with the standard U8800 was just a matter of > Menu > Settings > About phone > Online upgrade.
To go to ICS 4.0 - you needed to "ROOT" the phone first.
The U8800 Pro by comparison was just the online upgrade.
The U8800-51 can't be upgraded as it is for the American market and certain Telcos only.
I hope this will give you a clearer picture of the need to identify correctly first, then search out the right info/procedure so that you don't "BRICK" your phone.
Someone may come up with a way to recover "BRICKED" phones as I feel that "flashing" the ROM (similar to PC BIOS) should enable the phone to be set back to out of factory state. Neil.
