Help FoxFi & PDA.net

I just tried both the FoxFi app and the PDA.net app, and I couldn't get either one to work. Anyone else having a successful story with these apps? It would be great if we could get these working until the bootloader is unlocked.

I've tried every app that even resembles a wifi tether solution and nothing works. People are even trying to decompile and modify and still no love at this time. There seems to be a deeper rooted issue that we haven't stumbled across yet and until we do, I'm thinking finding that one already existing magic app isn't going to happen.

But the good news is, quite a few people are looking into it. I've heard some of the solutions that utilize bluetooth are working as a possible temp solution if that interests you.

I'll dig through some old files. We had a dev modified version of wife tether beta for the spectrum that worked before the bootloader got unlocked.

Doesn't work on Verizon model.

I have used foxfi for years and it has worked great but recently I switched from Verizon to net10. I bought foxfi again but while it shows up on my laptop as a wifi connection, it doesn't connect. I have now a LG-L38C phone. Could that be the problem?

Been using an app called Hotspot Toggle Widget by Fattin (since Jelly Bean way back broke FoxFi for me).

So easy and lightweight.

Here's the Googple Play link:

Can't hurt to give it a shot.

That is just a widget for Verizon's Hotspot. This does nothing for anyone, as it's not a 3rd party app that actually provides tethering or hotspot functionality. But thanks though.

I costs $30 a month to use unless you're on a share everything plan.

That is correct, but the beautiful thing is that it bypasses the carrier check. So you can use it even if you are on a grandfathered unlimited plan without paying extra for tethering.

Tethering issue solved in the XDA LG G2 Android Development Forum, 'Mobile Hotspot modded to skip provisioning check (VZW)'. Won't let me paste a link. Only thing is you must be rooted to take advantage

I've used it a few times today. Looking good! I did get one random "lg hotspot" something or other related fail popup when doing something totally unrelated to tether. But anyway, we'll see how it goes.

This feature really saves me in a pinch when I'm onsite at a clients office, and I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem with no internet access.

Although I have not yet seen a standalone package, I did note that a t-mobile rom was released just today which lists "tether enabled" as a feature.
