Well thats strange, I definitely flashed your TW_D2VMU_APN_Fix-R1.zip and my apns-config.xml doesn't have it. Does the profile update mess with any of that stuff?

On another note, just rebooted and 4G is gone =\ Profile update didn't work this time either.

Edit: I realize I may have been confusing. Both those xml were taken from the same build of my phone, minutes apart without making any changes. I'm not sure why they varied. Maybe the fault is with the app I used to create the backup. My 2nd xml is copied straight from the apns-conf.xml. I don't know where I would even make the edit because the first xml was just a backup, placed on my SD card.

It seems you are feeling my frustration at this lol

idk if this has anything to do with 4g but when i installed MOAR:

i had moped's rom along with the KT kernel.

factory reset, etc etc etc

flashed MOAR and reflashed the KT kernel from aroma installer

and 4g was working but not mms.

idk why 4g doesnt work for you guys.

Same here...My 4g works and 3g too. The only issue i have at this point is downloading mms on moar v6 preview. Sending them works fine with the tw fix v2 and stock kernel.

keep in mind guys that if you edit the apns-conf.xml or flash a fix it is in your best interest to do a factory reset in order to test. as far as i know flashing the fix does that for you but i know manually editing the file in etc does nothing without resetting the apn on the data partition which can be done by a special tool or a full factory wipe. if you dont wipe it the apn the phone is using doesnt change. the file in etc is only used when the apn in data is missing to create a new one in data. after its been created on first boot ya gotta wipe it again every time you want it to change

Should we do that from cwm or in the regular settings menu?

huh. so you were actually able yo fully download the received image? using the built in mms apk? if so i dont know why others would be having issues unless there is something about the apn having both sprint and virgin values though im not sure if it still does. maybe the apn in use when on 3g is set slightly differently? different port or mmsc or something?

Yeap - didnt even have a download button - the picture showed up very quickly on both phones.

take another look at the force one. notice the mmsc and all that matches on the 3 non-ota ones. i dont have any of the things in front of me at the moment but i have a hunch that the problem lies in an inconsistency

I see you changed all the boost settings over to Sprint, whereas I kept 2 Virgin Mobile lines in mine.

IE: carrier="LTE - Virgin OTA" numeric="311490" mcc="311" mnc="490"

It could cause an issue, but when a stock CM or AOSP ROM has 3 to 5 different phone APNs in its stock apns file I didnt think it would effect it. I thought at least having a true Virgin Mobile APN setting may help.

also on the cm/aosp. try to put the stock Stk.apk in there. sim tool kit. that might help

also the wifibthing may be a bad default network setting. someone with it working should run a getprop and find out what network mode its on while 4g is working

Sounds like a plan - Ill also pull the Virgin Mobile lines out to be sure.

When you boot to a CM or AOSP ROM and go thru the settings into the access point names the current connect APN will show by a indicator. For me its always been the:
Code:
<apn carrier="Global Sprint" numeric="310120" mcc="310" mnc="120" apn="cinet.spcs" user="Sprint" server="*" password="*" proxy="null" port="null" mmsproxy="205.239.233.136" mmsport="81" mmsprotocol="null" mmsc="http://mmsc.vmobl.com" type="default,supl,mms,dun,fota" />
Only thing is if I try to force it to LTE (bearer="14") it wont connect. I have to leave it unspecified.

I just flashed MOAR 6 with the version 2 TW fix.

I used the KT747 Kernel (I always use the kernel with TW ROMs now)

3G worked
MMS Send worked
MMS receive worked
Internet worked
Calls worked

I'm not sure how to proceed with try to fix it.

I was able to do the same on the stock kernel but I have 4g too...it's just that when I want to download a message sent to me I need to switch back to 3g which means restarting the phone. I set the mmsc proxy myself in the ##3282#, and in the mmsc I added ":8088/mms?" Too and then it worked.

Ps
This is after I flashed the tw v2 fix. That's why I only had to adjust those few things.

Ok guys I came out with Universal CM/AOSP Version 3

I went with the concept of KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid

This APN config has .... 3 lines. That's it. I need someone in a LTE area to test it. I get 3G almost instantly with it set to CMDA+LTE/EVDO

The way the lines are formed it isn't set to LTE (or EHRPD) - so I'm not sure if LTE will even work with it. I tested 4 ROMs and it worked on everyone though.

Please advised what worked, what didnt, and what ROM you are on or tried it with.
