Since I have the time today, I thought I'd attempt to root my One. First things first, I go to the HTC Dev site to unlock the bootloader. I'm not an expert at this, so I'm following the step by step instructions. In Fastboot mode it tells me to connect the phone to the computer, but every time I do, it says the USB device is not recognized which, I'm thinking, will make it impossible to put the required files on the device. As soon as I reboot the phone, the computer sees its USB connection. Can anyone explain, in simple terms, what I'm doing wrong? TIA.
