I see a lot of questions about SmartActions that go unanswered; here's hoping this doesn't add to the pile.
I have a SmartAction -- actually, I have two -- that kick in while I'm driving. Both of them are supposed to fire off a text message in reply to text messages from certain people to tell them I'm driving; so don't write, call me if it's that important. But that action doesn't fire when a text comes in. And since there's no mechanism to reply automatically to everyone EXCEPT certain contacts, I had to list a few contacts to whom the action specifically applies. Well, it doesn't. In fact, one of my favorite perps for enriching the carrier with volumes of cheap text messages for which we pay dearly, my beloved wife, was sitting right beside me in the car when I asked her to test the SA by sending me a text message. I got her message; she go no automatic reply. That was last week. She still hasn't gotten the autoresponse.
So what might be causing that action not to fire? It has both of the necessary triggers, namely, that the phone (a Razr Maxx) is in its vehicle cradle and I get a text message from my wife. I hope someone has a clue, because I have yet to find one.
Thanks, all.
