Does the built in updater work? I assume it does since you put it in and everything works great. Will I still lose all of my Apps like when I first installed the ROM?
I would like to just have it update overnight and be ready to go in the morning but I'm afraid that I may not be able to use my phone if something goes wrong.
Is there a way to save all of my installed apps if I did the regular install from clockwork mod routine?
I know I have lots of question

OK here is everything from the start....
1. I Odin back to stock (that would be the sock with OTA updates 2.3.6)
2. I then rooted the 2.3.6 used new CWM recovery
3. Installed MegaTron zip from sdcard
a. Had numerous problem/issues/FC.....
b. I re did the install from zip as directed it was better but started to notice few things then a lot of things.
FC's, sounds for ring and notices would change I guessing on reboot,some volumes would be changed to silent, vibrate selection changed, couldn't find roaming choices until it was going to roam, 3G barely moving speedtest at 13kb down 14kb up ping 1062ms, tower signal going in and out or not available where I had signal before, turning on WiFi both 3G and WiFi icons are present but traffic does not load anything and calls cannot be made with wifi on (have some screen shots of both icons and message of network communication issues), Flashlight app I use shows at the top of screen a thin stip of what the camera is seeing, had issues with link2sd (uninstalled reinstalled then replaced it with app2sd pro) OMG dcsms didn't work properly and the chomp I use wont send/receive mms, view rom stats not working, this morning I had 3 calls that did not ring-show in log but did show voicemail icon, notice this evening that TB had not done the last two mornings backups, in the call log cannot press phone icon to directly dial the icon is not there and takes 3 clicks to dial, some of the toggles like flashlight only screen lights up screen capture hasn't worked, installed screen capture I use and it works. Love the sounds for lock and unlock screen but super loud. Screen brightness at its lowest...in the dark is so bright. Majority of apps that FC worked after uninstall then reinstall. Once after a reboot lost icons on my desktop pages, no issues with camera like others had. I use OS Monitor and in the message tab, lists debug messages before I just had yellow messages regarding touch screen and battery changes nothing like the red alerts, errors some pppd:32339 vs_open ttyCDMA, refcount1 (and other pppd/CDMA messages) some playback messages and what caught my attention first was the red messages about ram being used up/not releasing. I was only able to capture a couple of screen shots because after I select screen shot it would scroll back to the top, in this app only. Loading after reboot laggs and at times things take a moment to catch up I have tried to see what could possible be using the system and cannot find anything.
I notice some of these are listed and nearly 100 pages to get threw to read and not listed with known issues. Many apps had more to offer including Google play finally have the newest version and functionality including apps with in app purchase. Just now saw that if I tap the time in notice bar it gives options, cool.
Finally I stopped putting this off.
I really like the look and feel of MegaTron. Would like suggestions so I can keep it.

So I updated to the latest version last night and now it would seem that I cant receive pictures via text. A friend sent me one this morning and when I go to download it I get this message: "mms transaction is failed. http 403 error forbidden. retry soon". Any idea what is going on and how to fix this? My 3G is turned on. No wifi right now as i'm at work. Additionally, I read on some other posts that updating the PRL might work. Unfortunately I can not update due to a "No Service Error". I have also tried restarting the phone and pulling the battery. My 3G does work because when I start apps that use it, they work. Apps like weather etc.

Most of the network related issues you were talking about is probably an issue with just your phone. call boos and tell them you want to refresh you phone because its not working properly via network. the only network issue i can see most people having here is mms issue. IF you are on sprint you need to manually change the mmsc url from boost to sprint or use a 3rd party app such as go sms and change the apns in the app so that you can get mms. As for the other issues like ringing/vibrating or call delay issue i will have to take a look into it.

I am on the sprint network can you point me in the right direction for the manual URL change for mms?
BTW all the apps were redownloaded and installed only data was recovered on some, and no known network issues on the last ROM that I have been using for nearly 2 years.

You shouldnt have to update the prl to get mms but sometimes the network acts up and you might have to do it once in a while. are you on sprint?? did you change the mmsc url??

No, i'm on Boost. I have not changed anything yet. Really don't know how to anyway.
When I try to update the PRL, this is the error I get.
"The PRL update could not be completed. Please try again later. If the problem persists, you may need to contact Customer Service. Error: No Service Error"
I can also see that there is NO 3G activity going on when it trys to update.
Everything else seems to work fine. Calls, text go through just no pictures, Play store, e-mail etc. The only other issue I had was with Link2Sd but I fixed that already.

Chev, I too have thought updating the PRL would help 3G and signal but found out that it does not work from the settings in the phone and need to do it manually. Not so sure how to go about it and where is the most current PRL. And no way to change lock screen volumes?

Okay, so from what I understand the url is supposed to be " http://mm.myboostmobile.com " which mine is currently set to so now what? I still cant get pictures in text messages. Very detailed info is much needed.

Now that I am on wifi, i can send and receive multi media messages. Just not on 3G....
Additionally, I still can not update PRL, Firmware or Profile due to the same connection error: "The PRL update could not be completed. Please try again later. If the problem persists, you may need to contact Customer Service. Error: No Service Error" regardless of wifi or 3G...

Call boost and have them do a reset on your phone via network. I have the problem sometimes where it said failed to/ can not update prl, profile etc because I didn't have a clear view of the sky. At one point I literally had to walk outside my house and held my phone up in the air for 10 mins before it finally did it. Just only of the joys of being with a prepaid carrier I guess.

Okay, spent the last hour on the phone with tech support and no help. Things we learned was I could not reactivate my phone over 3G at all. No profile update or prl update nothing. Switched to WiFi and it worked. Nothing works on 3G... No internet, no apps that require it. Switch to WiFi and they all work. We didn't try any picture texts.
Some things have gotten buggy since tech support. 3G used to work on my apps and now it doesn't. Also, on 3G, since tech support help, I open Weather Bug app and it just flashes on the screen off and on repeatedly. Wont update at all or work properly and it was before tech supports help where we reset many things.
Additionally, with the toggle buttons and going through the regular menu, when i manually change from 3G to WiFi, I have to restart my phone as they dont just automatically switch. Same thing in reverse. However, when I have wifi turned on (while I have wifi signal at home of course) and leave the house, it will change to 3G just fine (probably doesnt work though) and then when I get back to WiFi, it switches over just fine by itself.
Any ideas???? Really need very detailed step by step help here at this point. Boost told me it wasn't a problem with the setting but with the ROM.
We did make some changes, sorry I don't remember exactly where after going through so much with them. Something like MSC number was wrong and I should have been my phone number and then the next step after that was something else that displayed all 00000000000. We changed the number on that to something. We got to this ares to make these changes from the dial pad ## numbers.

Thanks for the detailed description, I needed to say that as well. I don't know if yours did the same thing as mind, but in the notification bar both the 3G and WiFi icons are present.

My phone will only display one icon at a time. Either 3G or WiFi but never both.

listen, go to 6.1.1 and see if you're having theses problem as well. BTW 3g isnt suppose to be on while updating prl, or profile. it checks those over 2g not 3g. 3g should auto disables when updating those settings.

Went back to 6.1.1 and everything is working fine again. I think I will stay on this one for a while. Thanks for all your help.

this is what I did ...I installed CT-MOD to check it out and wasn't what I though it would be like....I then proceeded to install MegaTron 6.1.1 and most everything worked and those things that seem to have some kind of hang up have minimal work around. I like the notification bar loads quickly, mms works fine, seems smooth and all settings are now working, I have only one app so for that FC which it has always do and that is the DSP Manager sometimes when a call in coming in. The WiFi and 3G switching I found needs to me done manually for some reason it doesn't do it automaticlly as mrdroids stated but the 2 icons are continuosly on the screen until I manually change it. Some sreens I cannot see the area to type in see attachment. As for the 3G connection it seems to really be up to the tower and the traffic on that tower. I tried different towers and different times of the day/night. as you can see it varies a lot, sometimes it halls A** and others times I might slip into a comma waiting for something to load.

yeah DSP manager will fc sometimes. wifi and 3g delay probably has something to do with lidroid or atleast the systemui.apk i've realized it everynow and then when i had the ultra but never really looked into it. Now that i dont have the phone i cant even try lol.

I stopped being able to receive picture messages using 6.2.5, I went back to stock and now there's no issue. Just saying to anyone who ends up having the same problem.

I went back to 6.11 after a few days, everything is fine as long as I don't use chargers from manufacturers other than Samsung. NEVER use a Motorola charger with this phone!

boot times are amazing and it runs a lot faster than the old ROM i used. Installed chevron rom like 2 years ago and been using that.
Have a question though .. when i go to Settings > MegaTron Settings > Online Backup .. it force closes with:
The application MegaTron settings (process com.roman.edt.tweaks) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Happens every time. Not sure what the Online backup feature is for .. i would assume to back up certain settings perhaps? and also "Toogle settings" below it is greyed out. How do i fix the FC and what are both of these menu items used for?

lol thats an Old Rom have mine, you've been using that for the past 2 years? Install this from the playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.onnandbup . Reboot and try opening online backup again. Online backup allows you to backup your phone without booting into cwm.the Toogle settings is grayed out because that feature isnt supported at the moment.
