So my HTC Google Nexus One failed and I was looking for a cheap, unlocked replacement, I found Blu and found the Life View. It seems like an amazing phone for the price, nice large screen, nice camera, works with my carrier, new OS, etc. My only concern is the CPU (Quad 1.2ghz, Cortex A7) so my question is how will that CPU perform in general use (email, reddit, video playback, etc) and how will it perform in gaming?

BLU Life View - Full phone specifications

I also have the life view, on US T-mobile getting the H+ signal for most places. I love it. Although there are a few things I have an issue with.

One, possible bad file system in the NAND. It will not allow me to transfer large files some times from or to the phone. Large meaning 500+MB.
Two, I believe that the radio driver or code (whatever) could be tweaked better.
I have a feeling that BLU is not giving us the full potential that the phone can in order to get us to be the next best thing. Just a hunch, no real proof....
Three, larger apps storage than 1gb....who in the hell does that?!!!.

Anyway, its an awesome phone, just a few things that need to be fixed. It would be awesome if someone was brave enough to go ahead and crack it open? LOL find out that it really DOES have an external SD card, just not easy to get too, lol.

Here is the root method. I copied this from

http://dragondevs.com/index.php/topic/1970-how-to-root-blu-life-series-phone/

I used this to root my phone. I had to click the "Root Device (All Methods), in order to get my phone rooted

Here is the instructions for the Clockworkmod:

Ok so there will be two things you need to accomplish this.

First the Recovery Image:
https://docs.google....sp=docslist_api

Second Mobileuncle MTK Tools
https://play.google....leuncle.toolbox

Mobileuncle works with any MTK CPU phone.

For the Life View
Install the app
Launch App
Choose update Recovery
It may automatically reboot into recovery, this is
fine. But either way, you are done.

And here is the first custom rom, ( thanks to Gerard Marshall, on Google+ ):

This was pulled from the Note 3, and modded for this phone. I've running it for a month now, and it runs really well:

You can also find a Stock rom on his Goolge + page.

ALWAYS follow the instructions to the letter, and if you brick the phone, it's no ones fault but your own.

DEVs. If this needs to be placed elsewhere in the forum, Please do so.

@shar210, sounds like a problem I've had. Try this - hold down the power key, volume up, and volume down all at the same time for at least 20 seconds. This will boot into recovery. Mine said "no command" just press the power button once. Follow directions on screen, choose recovery. Then reboot system now should be highlighted and tap the menu key on the bottom left of the phone. This will prob keep happening and I'm not sure what's wrong. I have sent an email to blu but we'll see. Hope it works.
