So i have a 1amp charger in my car to charge her up do as i was testing the charging rate yesterday, the charge actually went DOWN, i was at 52% at the start of the charge then turned off the display and let it sit there for 10 minutes then checked it again,,,, was at 49%... wtf?
It does say its on a slow current charge but its actully decreasing the battery, what is going on here?
Thanks all

Your car charger didn't supply enough amperage for the running apps on the phone.
So charger AND battery had to support the phone.

If the LG charger supplies 1.2A then a car charger should supply the same amperage or more.
But even a 1.2A car charger won't charge the phone with 1.2A because it hasn't modified data pins like the LG charger.
So you'd need a charge-only cable which has this modification on its microUSB connector ...
Charge-only USB cable
Have look at the reviews for explanation :)

Interesting.... so is the stock cable that comes with the F3 a data cable or a full charge cable?

Anyone have a pin-out? Should be able to lead-test the cables and see what USB to microSUB lines are connected.

The stock cables, when the phone comes with a cord and a standalone AC to USB adapter will charge the phone normally. Otherwise when you plug it into the wall adapter it wouldn't keep up. Most phones come this way now so it is not an issue anymore, unless using a different cable in the car (on a USB car adapter).

The problem is most likely the car adapter, the cheaper ones are garbage for power regulation. I would only get brand name car chargers or ones that have great reviews.

Yeah the unit I have is suppose to be LG OEM as well and was $20. So you can't go by that.

Will a 2.1A charger work with this phone? As the voltage regulator in the handset itself should cut it back to what it actually needs, but the 2.1A will be there if it needs any more juice then the standard 1.2A

2a chargers work fine. I use a Verizon 2A charger on all our phones when in the car (F3 and Blaze, atm). It works great, probably the best charger I have ever used. It has a capacitive led on the end for finding the hole, lulz, and and extra USB port. Its pricy but I got it as a gift.
