Anyone use a vehicle mount?

I have a Wilson setup in my car, so it has a cradle that mounts in the vent. The only thing with it, is I normally have a case on my phones, and haven't gotten one for my brand new G2, so I want to get some felt or something to cushion the plastic arms against the phone. But I've used it with a few phones, my Tbolt, Gnex, and now the G2. Not sure how it would work with a charging port on the side, I think that would be a little more pressure on the port than I'd be comfortable with. Cradle is similar in style to this:

I use a Mountek nGroove Magnetic mount:

Amazon.com: Mountek nGroove Snap Magnetic Vehicle Mount for Mobile Devices with Yellow Safety Sticker: GPS & Navigation

I use the CD slot mount (because I never play CD's) but other options are available. On the end of that mount is a strong earth magnet. On my phone, between my stock back cover and my Incipio phone cover, is a small flat disc (okay, it's not round but I call it a disc anyway!).

I hop into the car, place the phone against the magnet and it sticks there. Have gone over washboard roads, bumpy alleys, etc. and it's never fallen off. No arms, no parts to block charging ports and buttons, super clean and couldn't be more convenient. I have a couple spare discs and was considering doing my Nexus 7 tablet but haven't gotten around to it yet.
