Help Screeching noise sound while on call

Just got the Note 3 yesterday. Whenever i'm on a call, it makes like this screeching noise when the person on the other line is talking. It's not all the time, but its often enough, where i have to ask them to repeat themselves. It reminds me when your tv or something volume is too high, and when its a loud pitch, it makes that noise. Please help! Is my phone faulty, and i need to take it back to sprint for a replacement?

I don't have my N3 yet, but that can't be normal. Doesn't sound like any connection problem I've had with another phone either. If you're using the standard calling network (not some VOIP setup) then it sounds as if there's something screwy with your phone. Maybe someone else is familiar with the problem, but I'd probably try to exchange it for another one.

Am having the same problem. I went to my local Sprint store and they offered to replace the phone but had no real solution.

Reviving this thread with a bump reply!

I'm having this issue as well. It's quite annoying. Is anyone else having this issue and if so did you exchange your phone and did that work?

I have to do more testing at some other locations. I don't remember it being this bad at work (it's worse at home). My signal strength is strong so it's not that.

I did not have this issue with my last phone, a Motorola.

Bumping this thread because I heard about issues with Sprint's note 3 on calls. In particular, popping and crackling. I played with some of the call settings and my suspicion is that it is a software issue because I only hear it when using some of the hd calling settings.

My 14 days is coming up. Hopefully, it's not a hardware issue. Still love the phone though

What is your signal level where you notice it most? It's worse in my home and the signal is weak here I'm getting barely one bar of 4G and sometimes it even slips down to 3G. My last phone always had 2 to 3 solid bars of 4G. I'm just trying to figure this out. I'm on Verizon as well. I think I'm going to try swapping out for a new one to see but I'm thinking it will likely be the same. If I thought there was going to be a software fix in the future I might suck it up. The problem is supposedly rampant on Sprint and supposedly they have admitted it and are working on a solution but that is all just what I've read here and other internet articles.

I've read the same and spoke with a customer service rep that said that a solution is being worked on. I asked if between Sprint and Samsung, they've discovered if it's a hardware or software issue. When I asked if Sprint would be replacing phones, should it be discovered as a hardware issue should I have my phone replaced now? 1st suggestion was to possibly get another phone (I LOL at that one). The rep then said that, should it be a hardware issue, just bring to Sprint first and they should resolve it, even if one doesn't have Sprint Insurance. We'll see how it goes. I'm chancing it and not going into Best Buy before the 14th day, as I've found turning off the HD voice settings helps. It happens when I'm not using bluetooth more often than when I am using bluetooth. I'm hoping for a software issue because it'll be more convenient.

What do you mean by the HD voice settings? Are you talking about the Personalize call settings, Adapt, Soft, Clear in the Call settings menu?

Mine has been working fairly well the last couple of days even at home. I still hear the occasional screech but it's very short and rare and not interrupting my ability to understand people I still might swap out the phone because the the home button seems to much more loose now after a week's use so I'm afraid it's going to just fall off. So I might go have the pull a couple off the shelf and see if I find one with a tight button and hope for a better call quality as well.

Yes. Mine hasn't been the screech, it's more of a popping sound.
