Hey guys, i have a question about Boostmobile. So i recently bought a Samsung Galaxy s2 when i called to transfer my phone number to the S2 my bill went up 5 more dollars because it was 4g. I recently took the phone back to the store where i got it from because it was messing up. They told me they would have to keep it for about 2 or 3 weeks. I have another boostmobile phone that isn't a smart phone its just a regular flip phone. If i call to transfer my number to the flip phone and then transfer it back to the s2 when it is ready will they raise the bill again? I tried contacting boostmobile to ask about this but they're customer service sucks. Its so frustrating trying to get a hold of a representative.

As far as I know the bill might drop when u switch to the flip phone and then go back up the $5 when you switch it back to the GS2. Best thing to do is sign up for the Shrinkage Plan. After 6 months of on time payments, your bill will drop $5. You can shrink it to $40 a month. I know Boost is moving away from the flip type phones, so do it while you can.

I'm not sure why the store rep told you you have to keep it 2 or 3 weeks. That doesn't make sense to me. What kind of problems were you having with it? I would take it back to the store and don't leave until they fix it or give you a new one.

I had boostmobile for a long time now. I had the samsung prevail before i bought the S2 and my bill was already at $35 a month for paying on time. Then it went up $40 when i switched to the s2. I bought the phone at Curacao electronics not sure if you heard of that store but i got insurance on it so when i went to take it to get it fixed they said they were gonna try and fix it and if they are not able to fix the issue they would give me a new phone. The phone was having this glitch where out of nowhere the buttons would just go on and off by itself. It was getting so annoying i couldn't text or do anything when the menu screen kept popping up. I heard it was a common issue with the s2

It is a common problem. I don't know how well you understand these phones or if rooting your phone is something you'd be interested in doing. The only way I know or heard to fix the problem with what we call "phantom key presses" is to root your phone, download and move a script to a certain file. Sounds hard and confusing but there is detailed instructions on how to do it. If you plan on keeping the GS2, go to the Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 page on this Forum. Lots of fixes for problems you might come across.

Samsung Galaxy S2 (Boost Mobile) - Android Forums

If you decide you want to root your phone or read up on it, there's an All Thing Root section you can click on.

Hope this helps and good luck with your GS2

Unfortunately yes, it will increase again.

Most, but not all, carriers charge more per month when you're using a smartphone.

Features phones (Basic phones) start at $50 a month.

Android phones start at $55 a month.

So if you went from an S2, to a basic, your bill will go down $5 a month, and when you go back to your S2, it'll go back up.

However, if you have Insurance through Boost Mobile (Assurant Solutions) and you switch out that phone before doing an insurance claim, you will lose your insurance. Keep that in mind.

Also keep in mind that last time it switched from a smart to a dumb phone for a bit my billing cycle reset and I was required to pay to restart my phone. Had to pay the balance to match my new monthly bill. It may have changed from then... its been a while. But since then I've only changed smart for smart and dumb for dumb. I did change smart for a dumb a while back for another person but I dont think they changed the billing cycle. But keep your eye open, YMMV.

I have a smartphone (prevail). My wife has a dumb (innuendo). My standing backup is also dumb (incognito).
