Case Recommendations?

I'm a little disappointed with the NGP case as well. The coverage over the front of the phone is uneven. It covers it well in the middle but tapers off at the top and bottom.

Yes, mines does that as well and was doing it in the middle a little too. I've been trying to squeeze it in the middle to get it to cover better. I think it may be working.

My solution is a gel case on the phone combined with a Blackberry belt holster, which fits perfectly. The phone is easily accessible and always protected both in and out of the holster. I've been using this same setup with all of my LG phones since they've been about the same size, the F3 is my 4th.
The holster is a leather one I got at Best Buy almost 3 years ago and it still looks almost new. The gel case is the one MetroPCS sells for the phone. I've used their gel cases going back to my original Optimus M, they fit nicely and hold up very well.

I just ordered this case from amazon Incipio LGE-194 Feather for LG Optimus F3 it has a little different style than most cases cost 14 dollars will let you know how it works out when i get it.

Ok case came in.
I like it. it's sleek and fits well. Covers it enough to protect it but still lets the phones style show. The screen protector that came with it was very good but of course had trouble getting it on without having dirt on it but after some work got it to look decent.

I bought this when I got the phone and like it a lot. Protective yet not bulky. The only thing I don't like is that it is too smooth, not tacky enough to prevent it sliding on surfaces. The trident I have for my Esteem is bulky but very tacky and able to not slide on angled surfaces.

Is there anything I can do to this case to make it more tacky? Any kind of paint or something I could put on it?

Grip tape maybe? Although it would be rough on yours pockets - sanding them down.

Or maybe dip the tip of the kickstand in Plasti Dip, But I don't how much clearance it needs to close so then it may be to thick to close.

I got that same case, and it does not fit, it has all the right openings so it must be the one. problem is that top phone corners do not fit in case. It seems it would fit well if top corners of phone were same way rounded as bottom ones. Defective case?

There are 2 different styles of the F3, one is rounded one is more square.

The 2 layer hybrid cases Are the kitties jammies.

I've had them for my DroidX, Motion and Spirit. I especially like the ones where the hard plastic parts covers the corners for 2 layers of protection.

I have a stand and no stand one for my Spirit. I used the no stand one for the past couple months because it adds so little thickness. The stand adds more but I missed using the stand and just went back to the stand one like this one for the F3 again.

The paint can scrape off the hard plastic part of these. Krylon plastic spray paint of your desirable color fixes that.

Thinking about trying your case in the future. Is your phone the one with the round or square top corners? (Like shown by sneaky_1 above). Want to make sure it would fit mine. Thanks

I purchased this case: For LG Optimus F3 LS720 Sprint Virgin Mobile Hard Hybrid Case Cover Y Kickstand | eBay

You'll notice in the pictures they don't show any holes on the bottom for the mic. When I got mine yesterday, the hole for mic (on VM phones) is on the wrong side - the left side. So I made my own hole on the other side.

I measured from the edge of the charge hole to the mic hole. Then placed a dot on the silicone case approximately in the same place. I tried to drill the hole starting with a small bit and working up, but that barely removed any material. I used an hobby knife to carve it a little bigger. Turns out I was up to high. So I took a leather hole punch and made the hole bigger and lower. It doesn't matter all that much what the hole looks like in the silicone because it will be covered by the hard plastic case and never seen. I then put the silicone case into the hard plastic case and on the inside with a pencil traced the hole. Then took a hobby knife and poked and twirl it where I wanted the center of the hole in the plastic to be. I drilled an 1/8 inch hole in the bottom of the plastic case. Finished smoothing the edges with a hobby knife.

Another thing I noticed. On my old Trident brand rubber/hard plastic case it was easier to put the silicone on the phone and then put it into the hard plastic case. On this one it seems easier to put the silicone case into the hard plastic case and then work the phone in by spreading open the edges.

Just thought I'd share my experience in case someone else runs into the same thing and is up to a little DIY work. The hole on the right is the one I created.

I got an incipio soft case for this phone, and overall I like it, but sometimes a corner will start slipping off.

I may order that ebay hybrid case as well and see which I like better. The hybrid case seems a bit bulky though.

I was also using a incipio case before this one. Mine stayed on but I didn't like that it didn't cover the front much and didn't go on top of the screen protector.

This case is a little bigger, but it still will fit in my clip on belt pouch.

Amazon.com: For LG Optimus F3 MS659 Hybrid Rubber Hard Case Blue Black Stand and P Holster: Everything Else
So i bought this case for the Metro F3 and its not very good...

The silicone case is too floppy, not really sturdy.. On the top and bottom of the phone the silicone is even floppier .. The holster feels cheap and the clip is plastic so it might break off easily.. There is not enough 'coverage' around the edges of the phone so if you have a screen protector it will probably lift the edges..

For the price (paid $9 total) its good enough for someone who takes care of their phone..
