i decided a couple of months ago that i was done with the iphone, and bought myself a galaxy s4. i fell in love, and i doubt i'll ever go back.

but, i wanted bigger. i watched the keynote, and decided to give the galaxy note 3 a shot. preordered one, and its coming in tomorrow! cant wait.

now... it just dawned on me....... how do i transfer?

with the iphone, i simply plug it into itunes, backup... then restore to my new phone. is there a way to achieve that level of ease on android? my core info... contacts, calendars, email, notes, etc... i have syncing to google and my workstations, so im not worried about it. the only thing i want to make sure i dont lose is settings and things on each app... like my game saves... or desktop settings, etc.

not afraid to spend money... so if there is a perfect app that i need to buy, lay it on me.

thanks for any help!!!

Can't do apps without root, but its actually much easier to get your contacts and calandars and email (and music and files if you have a micro sd slot)

Your synced to google, sign in on your new device. Now you got your contacts calandar and email. For music and files, grab your old sd card out of your old device and put it in the new device. Tada :)

But say you don't have a micro sd, or slot. With your computer, plug in your device, copy all the files you want to your pc, then unplug, plug in the new device and copy them to the new device.

A little more work, but its like using your pc as a giant jump drive lol.

For apps, you would need root on both devices.. but if you go to the play store, you can see all the downloads you've done, and if youved got paid apps, you shouldn't have to worry about needing to re pay for the app ;)

It can back up if you have the option selected. On my HTC it's in "Backup and Reset" settings.

I'm not sure how much it backs up because I don't rely on it myself (rooted, so have many backup options). IIRC MoodyBlues was saying it worked well in another thread recently. You could try the "belt and braces" approach: enable that and use a backup app for anything it doesn't handle.

Google Music manager will sync itunes with google play music. 20000 songs at no cost. Download music manager on your pc or mac. Choose your settings and sync. Your library is now available on any pc or Mac plus your phone. If you want the music stored on your phone click the pin button under the artist tab. I've had the S3, Note 2, iPhone 4, 4s and currently use the S4.
