Help No 3G data connection after (failed?) root and factory reset

Okay, so I recently bought the Optimus F3 for Virgin Mobile and decided to try and root it to remove all the bloatware. I used Motochopper and it seemed to work except for when I opened up Superuser, it was empty ("no superuser policies"). It then wanted me to update the binary and I clicked yes (admittedly I should have done more research on this before doing so, I really didn't know what it meant). That's when my phone shut itself off and restarted. When it started up again, it seemed to have gone back to factory settings.

Here's my problem: I have service but no data. I can make and receive phone calls and texts, but I can't get 3G to work. I tried Google and I didn't find anything helpful. A friend said something about setting the network settings, but I don't see a way to do that from system settings.

Help!! :(

Have you tried reactivating your phone. Use the activation app on your phone. This will many times solve the issue. Also ensure your data is not toggeled off

GAH! You are BEAUTIFUL! I went to activate it via my phone and it sent me to this menu that let me look at the services for my phone. Said that everything was ok except for my 3G. I ran a test and it gave me an "update network profile" option so I did that. Worked beautifully.

Now the question is should I attempt to re-root, because I really want to get rid of this junk on my phone since I can't move apps to SD anymore...

Any bloat you can't uninstall is in the /system. You can remove it if rooted but it won't free up any usable app memory, as it is a different partition. I would recommend just disabling what you can from the settings > apps. Keeping the system apps intact will also helpnif there are any updates for the OS, as they will most likely fail if system apps are removed. Root should worknfine if you want it using the motochopper thread in the root section.
