flashed a sense rom in order to perform a PRL update, went ahead and did the firmware update also (was that a mistake?)

then go to flash back to AOKP and i'm getting a bootloop at the white HTC screen.

factory wipe
flash ROM from scratch
no go

same with trying to restore my AOKP nandroid.

what's the damn deal?

Hmm so you're still 1.50? Bummer, that would have been pretty simple. Your radio should be fine and not affect the boot sequence. Only an incompatible hboot version would cause issues but it sounds like that didn't change?
Is your rom backed up? Can you try to restore your backup.

I'd probably run the ruu, then restore or reflash a rom.

Just to double check, your bootloader is showing 1.50 and not 1.57 or 1.58?

It doesn't seen to add up because 1.50 isn't a VM hboot, so the software update wouldn't include that hboot if it overrode your eng hboot.

If you are in fact on 1.57 or 1.58 then you just need to downgrade. I'd use jpbear hboot 1.50.5050 from here: http://androidforums.com/cdma-evo-...8902-radios-hboot-firmware-all-downloads.html Post 2.

The ruu (rom update utility) will return your phone completely stock. It fixes 99.9% of issues. You can find the VM ruu in my thread here: http://androidforums.com/cdma-evo-...527-rom-update-utility-ruu-all-downloads.html

It will not remove s-off. Put the phone into fastboot usb mode, run the exe. After it's finished you'll just need to add recovery, downgrade your hboot and restore the backup.

For recovery, if you use 4 ext, you can flash through the bootloader: https://db.tt/9VEkAHRe

Get your hboot from the link above. Restore your backup, should be good to go.

Make sure to delete the PG86IMG.ZIP files from the sd card!

so can i just download the RUU.zip, rename it to PG86IMG and then flash it via the bootloader?

Yes.

No, there is a few more steps
Start ruu with phone disconnected
Goto run and type %temp%
Find the newest folder and open
Find ROM.zip
Rename rom .zip to pg86img.zip

Or I'll post one in a bit

You're correct but he was referring to my download I believe where I have the exe and zip versions available. So in this case yes, if he downloads the zip version he can rename and flash through bootloader.
