Root PACMAN4.2->Harmonia(or other ICS rom?) help

I'm tired of the crap battery life, I feel moving back to an ICS rom will help me out.

I'm not sure if harmonia is the way to go, or if I should go back to MidnightRom like I was using(I remember it was great till 4.1 came out). All I really do is use Maps from time to time, talk and text. I have a Nexus 7 now, and am pretty much always on wifi, so I just use that.

My real question is, what steps do I need to take going from PACMAN 4.2 down to an ICS rom?

Details:
HBOOT 1.50.5050
RADIO 1.09.00.0706
PACMAN 4.2

Should be it.

Thanks for the help.

I went from Angry Bean CM 10.1 to MidnightRom keeping Joe_Blow Hacks & my phone works fine.
It all depends if the ROM tells u to use an specific hboot. Radio updates vary on the location; latest doesn't necessarily make it better.
Hope this helps

My 2 cents is that first, I invested in an extended battery long ago and would definitely recommend the extra 15-25$ depending on what you buy on a large capacity battery so that worrying about it is a thing of the past.

If you don't want to spend the money, then prioritize the features you want on your phone vs. battery tradeoff. For instance, the more apps you have loaded onto your phone and that run in the background the less battery life. So, don't install apps you don't/rarely need and just restore them if you do and uninstall after you're done.

There are very good ICS Roms out there. Currently the most frequent one's I flash are Negaman's BluRom or Butterz on the XDA site. Nega's can be flashed to set your kernel to low and Butterz comes with Mirage which seems to be by popular opinion on the best kernels for battery life/performance.

Lastly, if you want to stay on Jelly Bean, get off PacMan and flash the newest CM10.2 Hoop Pope on XDA. After loading up, flash the updated Mirage JB kernel (991 or 993).

Happy Flashing

P.S. Have you tried the Greenify app on the Play Store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en

Flashed Senseless midnight rom with no issues. I couldn't figure out how to flash butterz.

Usually after a day on campus my battery is down to 50-60% on pacman. That's with 3g, wifi, gps, bluetooth off. Today, with all that off, I'm only down to 95%. Usually I'm lower than that by the time I walk out the door.

Honestly, when I was running this phone....I did find that sense 3.6 ROM's gave the best battery life for me....

Personally I REALLY enjoyed any of team d3rp's ROM's from XDA, especially Lights Out...and they're all compatible with Virgin Mobile as well.

Thanks for the heads up on those ROMs, I missed them coming to this phone late. Going to go lights out, Not much new for my Evo ,I miss flashing :D .
