Help Why am I getting notifications about junkmail & how do I stop such?

As stated, all of a sudden for no apparent reason, my S4's alerting me every time junkmail comes in. I couldn't seem to find a setting regarding such, can anybody clue me in? As always, thanks in advance for any help!

maybe you have installed a free app from the playstore wich puts spam in your notifications.
In this case you'll need an ad blocker to get rid off it, search google for 'adfree or adaway for android' (these are not found anymore in playstore) For most adblockers you need to be rooted to give acces to the app files.
If you are not rooted you can use an app such as app detector from the playstore to find the app that sends the spam and remove it/replace it with an addfree version

Hmm.. the only thing I've installed recently is iBolt Dock & Drive. I was under the impression they were pretty well liked as far as products go & thus, wouldn't do fishy things like that with their app. Thanks though, I'll have to try what you've suggested.. (not rooted. tried, failed & haven't got back to it yet )

As Harry2 stated - are you getting notified about Emails? If so, which app? Gmail app? or the Samsung Email app? or something else?

Check to see which folder in the Email is the 'junkmail going to. If it is going to your inbox, then you need to set up filters to ensure that these junkmail are going to spam folder. But if these are going to your spam folder already, then you need to try to configure your Email app (whichever you are using) to not notify you about new mails to spam folder.

Let's say I got 5 real-mail & 5 junk-mail. My Samsung Email app would notify me of all 10, which confused the hell outta me for a little while because I'd log-in & only see 5 emails. Also, the junk-mail's most definitely going to Hotmail's default junk folder. I sort of solved the problem when my car burned to the ground with my phone in it though, lol. :p :( (so far my replacement doesn't seem to be doing it)

If the problem happens again, instead of waiting/hoping for your replacement car to burn down with your replacement phone, you can try to go into the Samsung Email app settings for your hotmail account, and unselect the option to sync your junkmail folder (open app, menu/settings/select-account/more-settings/folder-sync-settings

Sorry to hear about your car BTW
