Long story short, my metro CDMA s3 hit the bricks and when I did my insurance claim asurion sent me the blue gsm version.

I haven't done much in the way of dev work since the CDMA s3 and after checking things out it seems as though there's nothing that needs to be done (pretty much all of the T-Mobile t999 ROMs work perfectly after modding the APNs). I'll be happy to help out where I can and answer questions that any come along with until I trade up from this phone. No telling how long that will be, I'm constantly changing up due to boredom.

If there are any aosp ROMs that anyone would like to use on their t999n and cannot get them working give me a shout out and I'll gladly help ya out.

I'm currently running slimbean 4.3 build one. Had to modify the APN to reflect metro but its running perfect.

Since I had this fone I always use the APN from T-Mobile and everything works perfect for me.

Thanks

The T-Mobile APN seemed to work fine for me too, but I didn't really leave it long enough to gauge how well. I changed it to the metro APN simply for the sake of having it on the original and for-sure correct APN.

I'll take a gander at supernexus, it won't be so simple as just flashing it, I'll see what I can do with it. If the ROM is open source I'll work on building it for our phone.

this may be the stupidest question of the entire site but how do I know which version of metropcs galaxy s3 do I have? GSM or CDMA? I bought it like a week after it came out. And if I want to take my phone to AT&T would one of those versions work?

please excuse my noobness and thanks

If it's a white one, you have the CDMA; if it's a blue one you have the GSM.

ok @chiweN the only im confused about is if i can use say a build from AOKP T-Mobile section without any problems i have been debating if i should root my gs3 or not for the 4.3 roms lol but im kind of nervous cause i dont know how to change the apns and all that stuff like how you stated earlier

As long as it's for the T-Mobile galaxy s3,or att s3,it will work on our phone. I'm working at the moment, but when I get home I'll write up a quick guide on exactly how to do it all, including changing the Apns. It's really easy once you understand what you are doing and nothing to be nervous over, I promise.
