Help Not Getting Voicemail All of a Sudden

I recently (back in August) got a replacement EVO because the GPS did not work on my original phone. Once I got the phone set up, everything worked well with no problems.

Fast forward to yesterday. I received the following text from 9016, "//ANDROID xxxxxxxxxx has sent you a Sprint Voice Message. Call 408-970-0000 to listen. MMSN *a whole bunch of gibberish which is probably a code for the voicemail left*" where xxxxxxxxxx is the phone number the voicemail supposedly came from.

I have received voicemails fine until yesterday. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Edited to add: I can call in to get my voicemails, but I do not get the little icon in the notification bar, and I am getting the text messages instead of them showing up in Visual Voicemail.

I've had my Evo V replaced a couple of times for a number of different reasons. The first replacement phone I received would not get the Voicmail icon either, nor could I use the VM app, I had to manually dial in like you're having.

Countless number of calls to the support line resulted in absolutely no progress. Every time it was "I've just reset your voicemail, turn off your phone, take out the battery, then put it back in and try voicemail again." Beyond frustrating since it NEVER fixed it.

So the next replacement phone suddenly worked. Not sure if some sort of setting change fixed it automatically (because this obviously seems like an account issue imo, not anything hardware related).

Well, it all started happening again so I tried calling support, got the same run around. Finally after a bunch of searching online, someone mentions this email address:

SaveMe@thevirginangels.com

It's some sort of official support email that's associated with their social media section (I think). I was a tad leery about giving them my login info, but sure enough, they got everything worked out for me.

Turns out the problem was: " I reviewed your account and it seems your voicemail service was post-dated for the 9th, so that may be why you weren't able to access your voicemail services. I went ahead and enabled your service."

And suddenly it worked! Shame that the phone support people don't have the basic skills or access to see what's wrong with a persons account, but I was glad these guys could help me.

edit:

I should note that I have a credit card attached to my account and have never had an issue with payments. Plus, everything was working fine except for voicemail. So it was odd that this was happening.

And now that I rethink it, the issue with the icon not showing up was only solved by getting a new handset, the SaveMe email folks helped me when voicemail wasn't working at all... but I'd still give them a shot, they seem 100% more useful than the phone support.
