I somehow managed to break the throttle, and I used 35 GB of data according to my phone, in october, all at full speed(!!), as fast as 2.5 Mbits down and .9 Up. Averaging about 1.5 down and .7 up, though. Still awesome for being in a rural area. It's been nonstop since. I just haven't rebooted my phone in a loooong time. I'm absolutely amazed it's working..

How did I do it? Not sure... I just know my wifi tether app is stuck on 'wifi tether is now starting' but it works! and somehow the website says 0.0 MB of data used! Going on 10 GB used for november so far..no throttle, still 0.0 MB of usage! The fact that i'm getting even faster data speed than before is also really cool.

I'm still curious if anyone has any insight. I'm really glad this is working though. I hate satellite..

That can't be it though. I'd had this phone since the end of march, and I've hit the cap every month, and have always been slowed down to about .35 both ways, sometimes for a few minutes during the day I'd get full speed but this isn't at all what's happening, as NONE OF MY DATA is being counted on the VM site. I've been able to stream 720p youtube without buffering during peak times, and just maybe let it buffer 15 seconds and it'd be fine other times of the day.. I'm not complaining at all, this is great for me! I'm just curious how I could accidentally discover this 'glitch' and have others replicate it. Nothing is better than uncapped data speeds..

I'll try to explain when I noticed it a little better. I have the wifi tether app, which comes with many rooted ROMs. I have the widget on my main home screen, too. The app itself managed to get stuck on the 'Now starting' part, and somehow, and i'm CERTAIN this has something to do with it, my data isn't being counted by VM, but my phone is counting it. This hasn't happened before until this little accidental glitch occurred. My phone has been running for weeks nonstop, too. Maybe I'm just really lucky.

I'm using midnight rom sense. I've been using it for months, but as i've said over and over, i just randomly came across this. If you don't have wifi tether, and you're rooted...GET IT! But, under normal operation it still counts data. But, I don't know what i've done.
