So...planning on getting a new SD card soon....thinking about the Samsung Pro 64gb model. What's the best way to transfer stuff to new card? Do I only need to worry about the stuff I put on it like pics & music and will the phone reinstall all the items it needs to on it's own? Right now I'm using the same SanDisk 16gb card I have had since using my HTC Incredible.

Good choice on card.

Probably fastest to just transfer the files from your desktop.

That's what I was thinking....but do I need to do every file on there or just the things I added like music & pics & then let the phone add what it needs to? I'm sure there's prob quite a bit of garbage on my current card from the past 3 HTC phones I had.

I would just add the pictures and music. Someone else hopefully will suggest what you need to do to get the phone to know what directories to look in. I don't remember that.

BTW, one alternative to putting pictures on the card is Dropbox. I don't keep a lot of pictures on my card, and the ones I take during the day upload to Dropbox automatically when I connect to wi-fi.

I've been having the "Unexpectedly Unmounted" issue and in reading around the web, I have determined that it isn't the phone but rather the SanDisk 64GB Ultra SD card. I went a round with SanDisk and they were going to send me a RMA and shipping label a week ago, but I haven't seen anything from them yet. They had me do everything with the card except insert it in my butt and nothing worked. I had an old PNY 2GB card that never exhibited that behavior, so they couldn't claim it was the phone. I have purchased a Samsung Pro 64GB card and am currently trying it, we will see how that goes.

What all did you have to transfer to new card & how did u do that? I've never switched SD cards since having my first smartphone & it's time that I do.

I simply put the old card in the adapter that came with the new one and transferred everything onto my computer into a dedicated directory and then copied it back onto the new card. I have about 30GB on the card currently and it took about 30 minutes in both directions. The Samsung Pro has been in for a few hours now and I haven't gotten the problem to occur. Certainly not very good test, but with the behavior over the past few days I'm hopeful. I'll try and report back over the next few days and update how it is going.

Good Luck,

I'd be hopeful too if the next step was inserting the card up my butt! :D

Well...got it in the mail today. Sure looks like a genuine Samsung card. Not a bad price at all on eBay. $27.98 buy it now with free shipping & it's the Pro model.

That is a suspiciously good price but I bought one (for a lot more than that) and it looked exactly like that.

Have you tested it using h2testw? If not, you definitely should while you still have time to return it and before you lose your data. If you have and it's fine, you have got yourself a real bargain.

That is a suspiciously good price and the seller has suspiciously mediocre feedback but I bought one (for a lot more than that) and it looked exactly like that.

Well....took it to Best Buy to compare & yes it is a fake...good thing I used PayPal. I sent seller a message to give him chance to refund me...if not then I'll take it to the next step. Good news though...Best Buy has the authentic cards on sale for $40 off....$59.99 for 64gb Pro.

I thought as much.

If you claim through eBay they will expect you to test it with h2testw. If you tell eBay you have done so, that's all the evidence they will require. If you don't, they will be difficult - I know from experience. Make sure you have raised a case before you return it otherwise you might find the seller saying he never received it and you are left with no flash and no money.

I always download h2testw from Softpedia H2testw Free Download (exercise normal caution of course) and I have never had any problems with malware.

The fact is that flash memory is a big selling commodity. If you can find it anywhere for a lot less than the going rate, you should be very suspicious.

I plugged it into my desktop & it said 62.4 gb available
I forgot to add, these fakes lie about the amount of space. It's probably more like 6GB but anything over the real capacity is silently dumped. It's only later on that you realise that something important has disappeared like photographs of your sister's wedding and there is nothing you can do about it. That's why you should always test flash memory properly.

I buy lots of things from Chinese eBayers but not flash memory. You can probably guess for yourself why.

When I put it in my computer it said 62.?gb free. The things that I believe prove it's a fake is the packaging says made in Korea...the back of the card says made in Taiwan. The print on the front of the eBay card one is all white....the real one is grey/white. And as far as the packaging...the package says sdHC & the card that came in it says sdXC. The eBay one came without adapter & the real one has a Samsung adapter. Too many differences for it to be real.
