have had my G2 for 3 weeks and i really like it so far, except,

3 days ago, the phone starts rebooting at random time when i do a screen unlock.
i've tried changing the unlock, from PIN, to pattern to swipe to unlock but its still happening.

i don't remember doing anything special or weird to make this problem.

can anyone help out please?

when it happens:
i either double knock OR use the power button
screen comes up
i then unlock the phone
and it instantly reboots TWICE!!

and i'm not sure if its a real total reboot as the LG starting music plays once, and then 4 seconds later, the music plays again.

its really weird and SUPER FRIKIN' ANNOYING!
probably happens 50% of the time.

thanks in advance for any help!

Have you installed any new apps recently? I would try doing a factory reset just in case. Is it too late to return?

The problem is gmail.

Don't panic

1) remove all gmail widgets from lock screen.
2)uninstall the gmail updates.
3)install gmail 4.6 updates again.
4) do not use gmail widgets on the lock screen.

That will solve your issue.

I agree that it is gmail, but I only had to remove the widget from the lock screen to solve the issue.

True. Removing the lock screen widget solves the issue.

But anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

There's a guy on the android forums who got his G2 replaced for this. Of course the new one did the same.

Is there a way to send feedback to LG? Must be something in their software causing the issue

thanks everyone!
i removed the lock screen all together and no more issues.
will look into the gmail widgets issue mentioned and see how it goes.

hopefully LG will offer a software update shortly to address these small bug fixes that have popped up.

Yes. People think there's something wrong with the phone, But apparently it's something with the 4.6 gmail.

Ah well. After i removed the widgets and reinstalled gmail I've had no more restarts.
