Got the Defender today via a Sprint Store of all places. My already over sized and fabulous GN 3 is now officially a well protected, gigantic, freak of nature. New Specs? Height approximately 6.5 inches Width 3.5 inches Depth 1/2 inch. All of the buttons CLICK very well (Power, Volume Up and Down, Home Button). Covers over the headphone jack and USB charging port fit perfectly. Openings over the camera lens and S Pen are perfect. Overall, the case is VERY well made. I repeat, VERY well made. I must speak of one MAJOR drawback , at least for me. The built in screen protector SUCKS, and SUCKS BIG TIME. It is NOT flush with the device and simply looks cheap. The screen protector can be easily popped out and the adhesive strip easily peels away. Your device has a screen that is super scratch resistant anyway. Toss the screen protector in the trash where it belongs. Unless you are incredibly reckless, or have brats at home, chances are slim that you will scratch the display anyway. On a 1-10 scale I would still rate the Defender a 10. There is not a case on the market that offers the durability and protection that the Defender series offers. I have used Defender series cases on every phone that I have owned and always will. And yes, I IMMEDIATELY removed and TRASHED every screen protector that Otterbox has included on EVERY Defender series case that I have ever owned.

The Defender is a GREAT case. Just be prepared for the added girth.

How is the S-pen performance with the screen protector? I'm supposed to get my defender case on Monday, it's in transit.

I am curious about that, as well, especially since I put an HD Zagg on it.

In regards to the added size, I am looking forward to having a way to carry it on my belt and get it out of my pocket!

Also be nice if the case gives something to hold on to. Curious, as well, how the charge outlet and earphone jack are dealt with. Reason I ask, I have had to get numerous replacements for the Defender case I have for my LTE Evo due to them cracking and breaking off.

They send replacements quickly, I just hate it for them...

Does the built in screen protector sit completely flush on the screen or is there a small gap like the note 2 defender case?

The screen protector was IMMEDIATELY removed. It is POOR QUALITY and GARBAGE. I have never scratched a screen on any phone. So for me, screen protectors are unsightly and unnecessary.

Not sure what you expected? Otterbox defender is one of the sturdiest and most protective cases out there. Isn't that why we use the defender case? If you want so something slimmer, you will need to go with another manufacturer but also sacrifice protection. Also, not sure how you got it already since It only got in stock on Wednesday. I ordered it within an hour of being in stock and it was just shipped out today. I called them about why it took until today and ship and they informed me that it always takes 24-72 hours to process which makes today the earliest they would have shipped.

I happen to like the screen protectors on the Defender cases.......very clear and sturdy. Makes you feel as the screen is well protected.

It's not really that much larger with the defender case on when you do a direct comparison of with and without defender case sizes dimensions.

I am not unhappy with the protection of the case at all. I am merely stating that the case adds considerable heft to an already hefty phone. The Defender offers the BEST overall protection out there PERIOD. The screen protector does SUCK and is totally UNNECESSARY. My advice to all is to purchase one IMMEDIATELY. Just be aware of the added bulk. I have used Defenders on every phone that I had ever owned, MINUS the built in screen protector. Included are a few pics.

So how did you get the defender case already? I will be pretty upset if you tell me through the Otterbox site since I ordered mine early on Wednesday right after they went on sale and mine didn't get shipped until today. I even paid for upgraded shipping. Go figure!

BTW, does taking off the built in screen protector leave a gap at all between the case front and the phone? How hard was it to remove? Never really thought about removing it before. Interesting thought. Maybe remove the built in screen protector and put on a tempered glass screen protector in its place?

I'm curious as to how well the Defender will work with an Iloome tempered glass screen protector. I've thought about getting the Defender and taking off the horrible screen protector it comes with and just use my already installed tempered glass overlay for protection, but I'm not sure the case will fit properly. If anyone tries this, please let me know if it works.

Wow

Ordered my otterbox defender on Wednesday from USA, delivered to my door in UK this morning. Very pleased with the case. Better design than the case for the note 2. This one is slimmer. I ordered the black case. Looks awesome ;-)
