Hi All,

Got a bit of a puzzler with my Note 3.

I have various weather apps on my Note 3 (BBC Weather, Met Office and Accuweather).

I have my location settings switched on and GPS.
When I tap to update for current weather I get a random location as to where I am.
Met Office says I'm somewhere in the south of England (I'm actually in the North of England).
BBC Weather and Accuweather say I'm somewhere in Turkey, or Bombay???

Now after looking into this I have found then when I turn Wifi on, all three weather apps are fine and instantly update to my correct location.
However as soon as I turn off Wifi off and go back to H+ (On the Three network), the weather apps update to these random locations again.

I thought it might be a SIM problem, although when I have tried my SIM in my other Mobile (an S4) the weather apps are fine on both H+ and Wifi.

Anyone got any ideas???

Try Google Maps. Does the GPS look as if it's fairly sane? (I'm assuming that you have the GPS enabled when you're running the weather apps, otherwise they have no way of knowing where you are.)

If the GPS looks wonky, try GPS Status (in the Play store) to recalibrate your GPS.

Actually they're probably more likely to use cell tower (coarse) location than GPS (precise).

Tried Google Maps, GPS is fine, goes straight to my exact location. Tried it with both WIFI on and off, at different times in the day/night and no problem.
I have even tried with GPS and WIFI off, and it still goes to my location fine.

Seems strange that its only the weather apps that's effected
