Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Han, I'm with you. For being on stock Android for the past couple years on various devices, LG's interface is nice and fresh. Some of it is terrible, but a lot is useful.
I'm running CleanROM which is essentially a debloated stock ROM. It's been a little sluggish lately so I may look into Maladus tomorrow.
Great thing is the LG camera software is available to install if you want to go AOSP and not deal with the crap stock Android camera app. :)

Hmm. Is Maladus a stock-ish rom?

Yeah, I read that 2 year thing last night. Does it in for me. Until there is a way to recharge that thing at home and own it forever, can I justify the expense?

I think not.

Now the little dude on my OTHER shoulder says "hey, you spend hundreds on a new cell phone every two years and when you sell it you never get that money back out of it!"

True dat, little dude, but I want and NEED a cell phone that does what this one does, and no other device can do what it does. Coin allows me to leave my real cards safely at home... but I could still use the real cards if I had to. I am renting convenience with a Coin.

"Yeah, but they'll likely have a discounted trade-in program 2 years from now so future Coins won't have that huge initial cost! Sort of like what Tile is doing!"

A distinct possibility... and even a likelihood. But not a done deal.

"Okay, so this isn't an 'I NEED THIS' device... it's a heck of an 'I WANT THIS' device, though! Don't you have some money left in the phone fund?"

You know, Little Dude is swaying me back to pre-ordering it! :p

EDIT: Darling Bride will choke me, I know. But I pre-ordered it :D

My only thing with COIN is the battery situation - if they did some sort of trade in program, I'd be all over it. It would allow me to carry only my license and that card though, which is awesome. I'll think about it and maybe buy one today - the preorder price is awesome.

Also decided it was time to learn some new skills, so I started doing some Objective-C tutorials yesterday and built my first iOS app. It's a lot different than Java and Android, but their interface builder is super simple and the iOS simulator boots up incredibly fast compared to Android (not that I don't use my device to test or anything).

I don't know. That Coin thing is cool, but you guys honestly walk around with 8 credit cards?

I have one credit card (on me), one debit card, my license, and maybe a reward card from Buffalo Wild Wings, and that's it!

You guys must be rolling in money! Or credit card debt.

lol
I have four different cards that I use for different things. Debit card, Paypal card, Visa and Amex and to be able to put those all into one would be awesome.

I've spent $50 on dumber stuff before so I bought one.

If anyone wants to use my referral code just shoot me a PM. I believe its against rules to post it on here.

Exactly!

License, CCW Permit, Insurance Card, Debit Card, Costco Card, and 2 Work Cards.

Not enough to warrant spending the money on a Coin. Though, if they managed to make one with a rechargeable battery, I'd reconsider.

Hearing aid batteries ftw.

Remember how quickly the little Bluetooth headsets needed replacing when the batteries were done?
