Help POP3 email query

Hello,

I have searched for a resolution to my query however cannot seem to find an answer.

I have the stock email app set up as POP3 to fetch my ntlworld.com email on my Nexus 5. I have the incoming settings checked to; Delete email from server - When I delete from inbox, however the emails are still present when I log onto view my email on the web

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Interesting. I have had the exact opposite problem. I have a POP account on my N5, N10 and iMac.

ONLY on the N5, when using the stock email app (with DO NOT delete from server ticked) does the email disappear from the sever as soon as it has been deleted on the N5. So far no-one has been able to answer why and I have had to start using K9 instead.

Hello,

I appear to have found a fix at the server end.
Within the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP settings at the server end (in this case, NTLWorld), I have changed the option to "When messages are accessed with POP - delete NTLWorld's copy"

In your case simon1, I presume you would need your server settings under Forwarding and POP/IMAP to state, "When messages are accessed with POP - keep (mail provider)'s copy in the Inbox...

Hi Tom, That's an interesting thought however it doesn't work for me. For one, my server (Netaddress) doesn't have that option at their end. But more importantly, I also use POP to download the very same messages to my Nexus 10 tablet and have no problem, as well as on my old Macbook. In all cases I select (on the app) to keep messages on the server (so they are accessible by the other devices) and they stay on there.

I dare say there is a fault with the stock email app. I have contacted them but have had not a single reply.

K9 works.
