What issues have you had with the Evo V 4G?

I have had this phone since February and have loved this phone so much since the day I got it. I have left it stock. Having gone through a new phone every few months, I was ecstatic to finally have a phone I love using every time. But like all good things, bad has started to show. And because of it, I have to make the heartbreaking decision to get a new phone.

My lock screen has started to disappear, only showing my background image. App icons disappear as well. I press the unlock/power button to wake my phone up, and the screen won't light up. My soft keys will however. My phone won't let me hang up phone calls at times either. It will glitch and misspell words completely, lag when texting, etc. And one of the biggest issues I am having right now, my screen is starting to pop out of the actual phone!

I have not dropped my phone since I have owned it, so that is not part of the reason it is freaking out on me. What issues have you had?

I've had my evo since like July or August of last year. I'm not rooted, never dropped it. When I gotmy phone the big issue was the radio resource thing. My issue didn't comabout till w the OTA update.I needed maps one night, and at one point during the drive the arrow went nuts..

So I have a bad screen or digitizer... I've started to notice a buildup around the bezzle. So if I take a pin or a toothpick I go around it to clean it up and that helps some. Also if you have an old toothbrush or some other small soft bristled brush, take the back off , and clean underneath and around under the bezzle ,it helps alittle.

Aside from that, my live weather wallpaper stopped updating and forgot my location. Force stop kinda fixed it but it still says can't contact services to update... Fine.

Some apps disappeared icon and all.
The heat generated play games have killed my 1900mah Anker battery.
My phone volume has degraded so far that I have to use the speakerphone just for a regular phone conversation.

I'm looking toward T-Mobile for my next phone I think unless Virgin releases something... worthwhile.

I am on my second EVO V. The first one never got a good GPS fix. Ever. Which is why I returned it for the second one. Before I returned it, I was noticing that there was a lag when I would make a phone call between typing the call button and the call initializing. I have noticed this same lag in the second handset. I am sure the lag is due to apps staying active even after I have exited them, not sure how to fix this.

The GPS on the second handset is much better. It still is kind of flaky, and will not maintain a fix when the charger is plugged in. The GPS on my LG Optimus V was FAR AND AWAY better than the GPS on my EVO V, which is really disappointing. I can live with the GPS on this handset, but it definitely could be much better.

I am completely stock because I am chicken.

Connection issues on both 3G and 4G. Probably more of a VM issue.

GPS problems. Definitely EVO problems as my Olympus V was much better. Rarely get a GPS connection and when I do, it is unstable. Basically unusable on the EVO. However, when traveling with the OPV, GPS dropped out much of the time due to VM coverage issues. Haven't traveled with the EVO.

Occasional screen freezing but always self corrects.

Completely stock EVO with all updates from HTC.

Will probably leave VM when this phone gives out. Want usable GPS when traveling and good connectivity locally.

The biggest issue I had with this phone was also the Interface Resource Shortage error. But I took care of that, thanks to the fixes Leslie Ann provided. And that was months before the March OTA update was rolled out.

However, the phone has to be rooted and S-OFF. It was well worth it though, because the benefits outweighed the risks. Other than a few occasional random reboots, I haven't had any major problems since. Nothing that a nandroid backup can't fix.

I've had some similar problems. When my phone's battery life is low, the screen will stop coming on. The soft keys light up, but the screen will be black. I've had to pull the battery a couple times due to the screen not responding to touch while the power button wouldn't work! It resets by itself on occasion as well. My text messages go wonky, lag, and my keyboard has typed by itself. These are pretty minor issues compared to ones I've had with phones in the past. So for now it doesn't really bother me.

1) I use the app Waze for driving directions.. on my 1st Evo, the GPS would not work when I start Waze and have to restart the phone to get it working. On my 2nd Evo, it would still freeze upon starting but it at least could be cured by turning the GPS off and back on again.

2) Sometimes, after using the phone for a few months, the 4G stops working.. if you try to turn it on, it goes "on" then automatically turns "off" after a few seconds. The only way I could fix this when it happens is to do a Factory Reset. This problem has happened on BOTH my phones.. the 1st and the replacement.

3) Bluetooth tethering: very buggy and unreliable. I'm running 100% stock on my 2nd phone so this is my only option for Tethering.. (using Opengarden.) Bluetooth often drops or even refuses to connect even with the 2 devices are right next to each other.
