What email client to use?

I have a related question. I assume that when you log in to your gmail account everything you want to sync is done automatically... well is this possible with multiple gmail accounts? The reason I ask is I have a personal and business email address, and I would like information from both available on my phone.

Yeah, that seems right. Pretty big advantage in my book. Although I agree that it sounds like the HTC Sense Mail app has some pretty big advantages, too.

I just read on xda that you can get gmail push to work with the HTC mail app. I guess it can be done by setting it up gmail as an exchange server and set it to sync "as they arrive".

Not sure the exact server info. Going to look it up later. I need a nap.

Yes, it will work, just add another account. I've got it this way now on Droid using gmail app(still need to figure it in Sense app - those 2 are different) so should be good to go from other posts I'm reading about HTC Sense's mail app.

Not trying to start a fight but what is wrong with hotmail, yahoo etc????

There is absolutely nothing wrong with yahoo or hotmail. They use a different protocol (pop3) than gmail (imap). The difference is that imap is a "sync" with email server. Pop3 simply downloads and uploads mail to and from the server. For some reason, people think gmail is "optimized" in Android. This is not true. Android simply signs in your gmail automatically when you first turn on your phone. Because of this ease of signing in, it is assumed that something is "optimized". Again, it is not. the gmail app and the htc mail app handle imap exactly the same.

The term "optimized" is relative. But just the fact that the gmail client for Android is integrated for just gmail, and Android uses it to store some of your phones settings. Plus it sync with not only your contacts but your calendar and the fact that it gives you push gmail when no other solutions do. I would say that gmail is "optimized" on Android. What would it need to do in your book to be considered "optimized"? Your dishes?
