Questions about a 4G Xperia Z model and a battery question

Hi, i have just managed to get a 4G model of the Xperia Z pretty cheap (cheaper than a wifi only model on ebay).

Anyway, the reason why i mention that is i never had any intentions of actually using the 4G, i just happened to get a good deal so bought it.

Now that i have it i am wondering if there are any ways to actually disable the 4G side of it, even though i am not using a sim, i understand that in the notifications it keeps showing me there's no sim inserted and also that the 4G signal bar is crossed out, is there any way to actually get rid of these icons from showing? It's certainly not a big issue but would be nice if i could get rid of them?

Also, i haven't had much time to test the battery life myself, but i did read somewhere that even if you plug this tablet into the mains while you are doing anything remotely battery hungry, the charge isn't enough to keep charging and the battery will still drop even when plugged in, is this right?
seems strange if so because i have had seen other tablets before and phones and most i have used keep charging even if playing games etc when plugged in.

Thanks

James

1) No clue.

2) Depends on the charger. If you can find one that can supply 2 Amps, and the tab can actually take 2 Amps, you should be able to run as long as they keep delivering Diesel to the power plant. Charging with 100 mA from a computer's USB 2.0 port probably won't supply as much current as the Z uses, and you'll eventually run the battery down.
