Micro sd and movies while on deployment

I bought my husband the Galaxy Tab 3 so he can watch movies while on deployment on a carrier for 10 months. I wanted to get a couple of sd cards for movies and shows, but I'm confused if it will even work. He won't have internet access other than military info so wifi and streaming is out.
Are the SD cards going to work?

He can load the movies on the sd cards and watch them that way without the need for an internet connection I believe.

Yep. That will work well. I'd advise for this application that you buy the 64gb micro sd cards. Movies take up a lot of space, so you might need a few cards...depending on how many movies you want pre-loaded for him to take with him.

Another idea is to mail cards back and forth to him. Then you could send him new movies once in a while. This might be less expensive in the long run.
