Help Getting my MSL?

Hello,

I have done quite the research on getting my MSL for my phone and I have to say, the Galaxy Rush is quite the pain in the ass when trying to retrieve your MSL code. Basically, if you dont want to read this entire post I am looking for how to successfully get my MSL code without having to call boost. Here are the following methods I have tried thus far.

1. Terminal Shell type SU for super user access, then type "getprop ril.MSL". I have even tried this without super user access. I have also tried this while having the ##DATA# screen up asking for the MSL number.

2. Downloading alogcat from marketplace open it press menu > filter type in msl press the home key then dial ##data#. Then when asked to enter msl just enter random numbers press okay. Now go back to alogcat it should be there and look something like this: I/MSL_Checker( 220): MSL result : ******.

3. I tried the sprint MSL finder script that is on afterdawn. It did not want to install correcting with the zip so I had to manually install it and when it runs and tries to use the busybox file it says it cannot find the file. So I put the file where its looking for it to be and then it pops up a bunch of random crap like the command thats trying to be used in the script is incorrect. So needless to say this program is worthless too.

4. I tried the method of dialing 18882667848 option 4 then option 5 and waiting for it to tell me the ## number it wants me to use to reprogram the phone. That is suppose to be the MSL, however the number given is a 5 digit number and the code it gives me afterwords I have tried and is not my MSL number. So this option does not work.

Any other methods I could try?? Thanks in advance.

What I did was called the 888 number and went through the steps to trouble shoot data connectivity. It had me go through the steps and gave me the 6 digit number I presumed to be my msl..

However, upon trying it, it didn't work. I then called and talked to boost customer care and told them that what I had done and that the code it gave me was wrong and caused the phone to reboot after trying it twice. They asked me for some info (including my dec number) and after changing something in the system gave me a different number.

This number was the correct msl. I just pretended to follow their directions, but instead opened the ##DATA# menu and input the code there instead. Once I confirmed it was the correct number I thanked the rep and told them I could finish from there.

YMMV

I had to call them yesterday. I told the dude my phone was locked out and required the MSL and only had an emergency dialer upon turning on the phone. He just simply gave me the MSL number and let me go on about my way. It seems as though the MSL is not stored in the phone so none of the methods for getting the MSL will work on the rush aside from calling them with some bs reason for needing the MSL. Thanks for the help LV.
