I have successfully unlocked my phone from AT&T but am not skilled enough to follow guide to rooting this. Apparently the leftover AT&T APN is causing a bug where GPS kills the data connection. There is no option for deleting that APN like there is for my consumer cellular APN. Consumer cellular sent me an sms (?) to set up theirs as default. But the presence of the AT&T one is causing this bug which is documented (I am too new. To post links)

Is there any other way to get that out of there without rooting?

Additional info: more googling about the bug and it could possibly also be caused due to me having two consumer cellular APNs. One is the default for data and the other is mms and it turns out also supl. Research tells me that map apps use this for secure location data. It could be switching to that APN which has no data connection to use the supl. Now to find out why the supl is on that access point and not the default.
