Why is there no development for this phone? I have had it for 2 months now and there is ZERO development. The phone is fast but it could be SOOOO much more with a new Rom and a better kernel. I hope someone developed for us this phone is DYING to have the CPU and GPU Over clocked!!

Relatively unpopular phone, manufacturer has not been modder friendly by keeping things pretty locked down and since it is a fairly unknown phone even people going contract with Sprint are not taking it for free over a One or S4.

If you are looking for development then you need to go Samsung or HTC. The Supreme is a good phone but other than rooting, tethering and a few mods I wouldn't expect much more.

tbh yesterday i seen nexus five.. but i am not impressed by it.. As paying so much of money and we will get same thing like vital only bit difference not worth.. kitkat is like a go launcher.. lol

even camera of vital was good infront of nexus, sound also good.. nothing i found to be impressive, just front camera. As it sucks in vital... also there are some software bug in vital... but i think one day someone will make it..as i see some recognized developer got this phone..

Yeah the 2 month market is fairly new, I kicked myself when I saw it for $150 on VM's black friday / cyber monday sales : (
I thought my $250 I paid for it down from $300 was great, but now it's been at $200 lately post-black friday.
At this point I almost feel like they're trying to just sling these phones which are actually great phones, but just get rid of stock, and get ready for for the new year coming up, but half the deals felt that way anyways, as if they were liquidating.

I hope that isn't the case and that this phone gets popularity, but fact of the matter is, I highly doubt we're going to see a vital/supreme 2

I'd love to see kitkat as an option on most any phones especially with the push to run on devices with lower specifications, but it always comes down to the phone manufacture and the only devices that really seem to get android updates are nexus and samsung/galaxy just because they are so popular/google. I know in the past sometimes such large android updates were a matter of hardware and minimum specifications, but its rare to see a company ever release an update even though all androids have firmware update as an option in their settings as if we were going to see simple software updates :(, maybe everything will start turning into apk's and that will become more of a reality, as people strip those out and release them to the public.

Seems most of the time that android's launcher has changed due to what was available and popular in the market.

Probably find that very few manufacturers are truly modder friendly. Oppo is one. That they don't mind and encourage things like CyanogenMod, they provide information to ROM devs, and most importantly does not void the warranty. Phones like the S4 and the One get ROM development really because of their popularity. IMO Samsung themselves are not really modder friendly at all, especially now with their e-fuses, KNOX, etc.

One thing you'll notice right away is that development for the nexus 5 is flying. All the source is available for developers to use, so there were roms and kernels within days of the phone being released.

If root and ROM is important to you, that's always something to keep in mind before purchasing a device.

Also keep in mind the nexus 5 ships with Google's new launcher. That's not KitKat, that's just a launcher. KitKat has tons of new features
