Root [Virgin Mobile] [SOLVED][MK5][4.3][STOCK] Working Wireless Tether!

could we get the native tether to work? I'm just looking for alternatives here

Not anytime in the near future. Native tether is not in the framework of MK5 so the mods to enable native tether on Sprint stock will not work. In fact, those mods will cause bootloops. For native tethering you'll need to flash another rom like Carbon. Be aware there may be MMS or LTE issues with other roms.

If you prefer to stay on MK5, this app is the only option in the foreseeable future.

Is there any way to keep using bluetooth while tethering? I listen to alot of podcasts while surfing the web and as soon as I started my first wireless tethering session it killed my bluetooth. then when I tried to start it the second time, I had to shut off my BT for it to work. I realize that I should prolly send a message to the app dev but thought i would ask here first.

ps. when I was on verizon with the thunderbolt rooted wireless tether had an option to keep BT alive.

Oh yeah the other wireless tether app did have that. I forgot about that. Hmm yeah might try emailing the dev I'm not sure about that. I'll look at the app tonight and play around with it :)

Hey Britton, M.O.A.R just updated to version 7.0 based on MK3 firmware (but Knox free like JD's ROM) and their list of features claims a hacked hotspot mod as a native feature. Might flash just to see what it's all about, I know biker really likes the previous version of this ROM.

Thanks!
I've tried the hotspot mod that was posted a while back for the stock MK3.

[MOD][Deodex][Odex][MB1][MC3][MD4][MK3]Hotspot Mod - Working 4G - xda-developers

Turns out it doesn't work and actually causes bootloops on MK5. Our stock build doesn't contain any of the native framework for tether so there is nothing there to hack unfortunately.

Unless they are using a different hotspot hack, it won't work on our stock builds

But MOAR does look like a ROM I should try out!

Need help. I can't seem to see my SSID on the laptop.

A while ago I can see it, then I try again, and it's not there. The signal is weirdly low too.

I emailed Fabio the log and he said everything seems fine. Could it be something on my end? It might be my energy saving settings he said, but my Power Saving is off.

Using a Note 2 by the way.

Halp!

Tethering is something I don't normally do, but wanted to check this out.
Thought it might be easier to use my tablet to play ingress with the tether from my phone.
The small issue I found, is after stopping the tether app, it will not connect to wifi until the phone is restarted.
I'm rooted and running stock 4.3 that came on the phone.
Any thoughts?

....I am getting close to possibly running a custom 4.4 ROM which I'm pretty sure will change the above issue.
