Does the metal bumper affect GPS? Also curious if you can actually remove the battery cover without taking off the bumper? I've been considering getting one of those, but have been hesitant since I had issues with the chrome plated battery cover.
It not affect signal for me. Not really sure on GPS.

You can't remove the back cover without open up the bumper.

I just am always afraid the S-Pen is going to be impossible to get out with a case on it.

Why would you be always afraid when you have this website, (and others) to ask questions?

Like if you asked ..... "hey, I was thinking about getting the neo hybrid, is it difficult to get at the s-pen?"

Then a guy like me might say ........ "I just got one yesterday in gold color. Looks great and I have no problem getting at the s-pen" :)

See how easy that was, no need to be afraid my friend. :)

If you can test out the navigation at some point, I'd really appreciate it. Really like the way that looks, but have held off simply due to my using Nav all the time and having concerns about any cases/back covers that affect the use of nav (like the simple chrome plated back cover did for me).

Yeah I have huge hands and have no problem getting it out with a Defender on the phone...

I have to work my hands into XXL gloves slowly to avoid getting pinched or ripping the glove sometimes. lol

edit to add a pic of the pen well on the Otterbox. excuse the crap pic I took it with my work phone, a Casio Gshock ravine. Yuk. lol

Most proper cut out case won't have such issue. I can assure all following Genuine case no such issue on take out the S Pen:
  • Spigen (make sure it's genuine as a lot imitation one which not proper cut out and will have issue)
  • Otterbox
  • Rock
  • Body Glove
  • UAG (I not yet received but from image post pretty sure no issue)

Currently I at home town and didn't bring back that case, only can test out next week. ;)

I popped the screen protector out of my otterbox before I even put it on. The N3 has gorilla glass 3 in it. I didn't think I needed the built in protector.

I had the Nokia N8 before, which also had Gorilla Glass.
(Yes, i know the Note 3 has Gorilla Glass 3 vs the N8's Gorilla Glass 1)
I dont know how or when it happened, but the N8's screen has a 4cm long, deep scratch in the middle of the screen.
So, I will not be taking any chances with the Note 3.

Going to slap a Spigen GLAS.tR on it as soon as it arrives:D

Well that's kind of a weird thing to say but whatever floats your boat. With the otterbox defender on the phone you can slide it all day if you want and the screen will never touch the pavement. The only thing that will get to your phone are your fingers and anything in your pocket if you pocket carry (which I don't). I did use the screen protector in the otterbox on my last phone an htc 4g lte and it was ok but after a while it started to bug me. I've never scratched a screen on a phone so at least for me it isn't a big deal. I'm ok with the risk.

I also don't carry insurance on the phone either. Quite the rebel I am I guess.
