it's a shame i missed this giveaway, but i wanted to know whether anyone who received their g-shock watches have gotten any practical use out of its phone-link tools and other applications

also, if anyone has an extra feel free to send it my way.

its mostly smoke and whistles.

the second generation seems to be much better, the app is still nerfed to 2 devices exclusively.

if you're a casio fan, you could buy other watches and feel better about your purchase probably.

i feel pretty bossanova wearing mine. thats gotta count for somthing.

I can't even find a contact for Casio to find out an update except the email-bot address that I got my first email from them by.

Anyone figure out how to control the music player?
If you go to for Android - Main Features - BLUETOOTH WATCH - G-SHOCK - CASIO , click main features and casio commando, at the top it says control the music player but no where else in the documentation nor in the support section does it show you how nor say it's supported.

Sadly the music control is only on the G Shock 2 watch. The upgrade to the one we all got.

Got mine last night....got it paired up pretty easy and receiving email and phone call alerts on it. Gmail comes through as generic gmail but my work email, calls and text come through w/name.....I am concerned about the battery however. It claims to be a 2 year battery w/limitations on the Bluetooth and alerts coming through....it has a low battery gage on it and after 2 hours of use, it is showing that it is almost dead...not sure why.

the watch is pretty old now, im quite sure we all got these because they released the new one, and want to promote it, these could verywell be a year old before they got to us!

Ok, the battery thing resolved itself, no clue how/why but it did....the thing actually works pretty well and I am finding it quite useful at work...since I wear a watch all the time and my timex ironman is getting pretty old, I am digging it. I do wish it had the music feature, but not complaining because didn't pay a dime!

Mine comes unpaired all the time for no reason. Not impressed with it really. Can't complain for free though. Useful at work. Would be more useful it I didn't have to pair it 6 times a day... I just don't use that feature anymore. Dunked this watch under the water a few times and it is good to go.

i looked through some typical internet retail places somewhat thouroughly with very little luck finding a band that was listed as compatible with this particular watch. although there are probably some that would fit, i didn't know any of the listed measurements nor did i want to take the time to get that far into it. as for now i've settled for the stock band but i really dislike it

agreed, the rubber bands just seem tacky!!!

Still no watch for me lol. The webmaster email address for Casio is defunct. I just sent Casio an email to their main site. I doubt I'll ever actually see the watch, no big whoop.

Same here. I was written from that webmaster address over 3 weeks ago. Told it would ship in 10 days. Don't know what's happened.

You know what's hilarious though? Verizon is now selling these watches on their website for $180! (Yes, it's our version of the GShock, not the new one!)
