Help i5700 on 2.1: background color messaging

update to 2.1 successful. and i'm pretty happy with the phone now. only thing i really dislike is the background color in messaging, when u actually read th thread i mean. before on 1.6 it used to be black background with white letters, this now changed. and the now white background really does hurt my eyes after a while.
any idea how to fix that, meaning how to change this specific color scheme?

any idea appreciated! thx

i'm actually on the official 2.1-standard messaging client. the one already included. and so far it's been good enough for me, only the background color when i actually read a message makes me cry.

what would be the advantage of some other sms app? it's a serious question since so far it never crossed my mind that i missed some functionality.

Takes about 15 seconds to install Handcent, and about 2 minutes to try it out. If you don't like the customability, ease of use etc, uninstall it.

If you DO decide to keep Handcent, go into your original Messenger Settings, and disable noticifations etc. That way you don't get both apps notifying you of received messages.
