so i got my girl an Asus Memopad for Christmas year, and we've encountered a very perplexing problem. whenever she takes a picture with the stock camera app, it produces phantom duplicates in the gallery app. the duplicates aren't visible in any other folder or application, and even erasing the duplicates doesn't solve the problem because they keep appearing.

i have managed to find a workaround for others who are encountering this problem. the device writes to internal storage by default. switching this setting(have the camera write to the sd card) from within the camera app seems to have fixed the problem for the moment.

has anyone else encountered this issue? does anyone know if this is a known issue from the latest update, or maybe a remnant from a previous build? has anyone else been able to successfully remedy this problem?

This has happened to me as well but I can't change the option to write to SD card. The default save to internal storge is greyed out. How were you able to switch that option?

Ok, this may be a stupid question, but you have an sd card installed right?

I believe I had to go into the camera settings and make the change there. I tried a number of things to fix it, even contacting Asus tech support (which I don't recommend doing, btw).

We have encountered some other issues as well, so I believe we may just try to get a replacement.

No it wasnt a stupid question at all. I just have the 16 gig built in storage kinda feel stupid about asking that question now. I do however have the same issue with duplicate pics though.
