Verizon users upgraded to JB - Foxfi work?

For those who have updated to Jelly Bean on verizon today, I was wondering if FoxFi tether app still works for you. I have the update available and would like to downoad, but if FoxFi doesn't work it might be a deal breaker for me and I will turn to root methods. However, it will be great if it actually does work on 4.1.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thank you.

No, mine stopped working when I installed Jelly Bean. Now it activates and my computer can see it but my laptop gives me a "not compatible" error when I try to connect. It also opens Verizon's "mobile hotspot" and prompts you to set that up. When you close FoxFi, the Verizon hotspot app closes also. So somehow Verizon has merged their app with FoxFi.

Pretty messed up, time to root!

Sorry for posting two in a row, but I didn't want to just add this to my last post.

I just messed with my settings and got my laptop to connect through FoxFi. Seems to work well. But, the Verizon Hotspot icon is in my notification bar along with FoxFi's. I don't know what that means. I may see a charge on my next bill?

Foxfi stopped working for me a few weeks ago for a day while on ICS. I got the same "not compatible" error message. I changed the 'Network Name' in the Foxfi settings and it connected right up.

That said I'm still on ICS today waiting to see how Foxfi works out on the JB update.

Any more information from anyone? I think we have found out that the verizon hotspot opens when foxfi is opened, but that foxfi still seems to work. Now the question is: Is verizon charging us extra or is it just something that pops up when foxfi is being used?

Its just something new that has to happen, at least for now.

I've looked into this and found this is the new with verizon and JB, happens on my note 2. do not open the verizon hotspot at all!

when you close fox fi , the verizon hot spot will close also. This is what I found online, as far as verizon knowing, I think they know lots more than what they tell us, even before JB.

edit: I've read about it, not anything to do with coding at all, I don't know that.
