So I started using this rom recently. And running with BMS kernel its amazing. My MMS gets compressed. A LOT! Any help on this? This is the first aosp ROM that doesn't reboot on me.
EDIT: I am on the stable 10.2 anyone on 11 can send a mms and tell me if it compresses for you?
In case anyone is interested I updates to cm11 latest nightly 12-21 and there was still major compression on MMS. So I decided to go around the easy way and download handcent. Handcent wouldn't send my messages at all. Im not sure why. So I downloaded chomp SMS. This sends my pics however it compresses it a little. Not very noticeable but its there. I would really however prefer to use handcent. I tried copying the APN settings in chomp SMS manually in handcent and that didn't help. So 3rd party SMS app is the only workaround I know. By the way I also tried go sms even though I dont like it just to try and that also didn't send my pics.
I don;t think its on the recieving end. But when you send mms the pics are highly compressed. This has always been an issue for me and why i strayed away from this rom but i use it now since i use chomp sms and that is a workaround the issue.
I realize this is the nightly thread, and the current nightlies are 11.0. That said, I never have achieved performance with 10.2.0Stable equivalent to 10.1.3Stable. I am quite confident my installations of 10.2.0Stable are optimum, yet this version remains quirky on my MPCS S3. I supply this information for any other "Stable" persons like myself, and NOT to bitch. Definitely looking forward to 11.0.0Stable!
the sad truth is no matter what this is still just aftermarket software forced onto the devices, they try to get as bug free as possible for stables but its nothing like it used to be in the cm6 days :/
ALL are much better for me than MPCS stock. My only point is perhaps better to hang at 10.1.3 instead of 10.2.0, as 11.0 emerges. My thanks to you Shabby, and all developers.
Is anyone update to cm11 4.4 how's everything works or not I just want to know before I do it, can anyone tell me please? Also do I've must do it with computer? I heard it has to be with computer.
So far so good... I haven't had any problems with cm11 & 4.4.2, I do have a question. Is there a kernel that I can flash that will let me overclock? I was able to overclock my S3 when I was running liquidsmooth v2.10, but not with cm11. If it matters my phone is the MPCS CDMA S3. Thanks for any & all help...
Just an update... I found a custom kernel that worked. Phone is running great and I can over clock to just over 2ghz if I wanted to. I also want to say thanks to CyanogenMod & the person that made the kernel. I'll post who it was as soon as I have time. (I'm at work)
